General / Off-Topic Photo A Day

Post at most a pic a day.

Photos can be anything. I would like to see where you're from, how you game, what you do, what you do besides gaming... Also prefer it to be a pic you took, but if all you can find is an internet pic of what you want to show, then that's cool too.

These aren't rules.... more like... guidelines... (say that in Captain Barbosa's voice lol)

My first submission is my gaming setup. This is a 55" tv and I pull my chair up to about 2 ft away from the entertainment center. I'm considering a projector and can get 110" of view-able space. ED would be awesome on that!!

Ah, one of those fun threads I hope.

I'll +1 for the positive thought and the New Jack City poster.

Now to abide with the guidelines above, here is a picture I took over in the Philippines a couple of years ago:

One of those grey Canadian winter days(could be spring, can't remember). Nothing interesting in the picture, it's just moody :) Taken with my trusty film Pentax few years back. Now when I think of it I didn't use it since. Maybe I've got to pick it up again and have some fun.

I drove pretty close to England late last year.

There are 2 Scotlands here, but I don't have the pics for them yet. I drove past Moscow the other day too, but it was too dark for a pic.

One of the surviving He-162 Salamander Jets. Been in this museum quite a few times. Same exposition every time, but I just like to look at planes of an age where skill ruled the skies :) And this place has few very interesting pieces. Can't quite remember why this picture is framed so oddly. Almost sure I didn't drink before museum visit :D

Down the hill from where I grew up on a 29,000 acre lake. Good bass, crappie and catfish using rod and reels, yo-yos or trotlines. Duck hunting and frog gigging are good, but I never got into either of those. Alligators have flourished since I was a kid, so it's best to watch out when you have the dogs and kids around. Bonus news story.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

I can't take credit for the photo, but I was there the day this was taken. It was pretty special to have the Endeavor fly low and slow over my city on it's final 'farewell' tour before being retired. I'd never had a chance to see a Shuttle 'close' before. :)

My supervisor/area director went on vacation. He never took any time off so I made it a special occasion, I even wrapped his ink pens and calculator. The punch line was that I got everybody to sign a card for him and he wasn't able to tell who did it. At least not for a while haha.

Here's a photograph I took last year during the early days of the excavation of a hill fort in the Scottish Highlands that I was working at.

I'll be there again for the next few weeks, starting this weekend.

Some great pics here, guys. I've been to some amazing places, but by far one of my favourites is the small, Welsh town of Conwy. This is a pic of Conwy Castle I took while there a couple of years ago. Incredible looking castle -

My favorite bottle opener.

+1 on the great pics. You guys are putting up archeological digs and castles while I'm posting beer openers and overzealous use of aluminum foil haha! Keep em coming!

With a bottle-opener that cool, you have nothing to worry about!

Here's a pic I took whilst in Pompeii - according to the guide, this ' ' sign denotes a place where men could go to get some.. lovin' ;) True story.

What takes me away from everyday problems, grim reality, and bad moods. Features very dusty floor and equipment, and I'm not proud of it :D These two can always entertain me.
Brunette is quite a screamer with a quirky character. The Blondie is very much a gentleman, quiet and polite with a golden voice :) Also, my trusty H&K Tubemeister that looks like "a sign of a cheap strip bar" according to my friend.
