[PHOTO] First Asteroid Found with Rings in Solar System.

David Braben, Could you spend a moment and take a look at realism on the cutting edge in this report?:

March 26, 2014 - First Asteroid Found with Rings in Solar System.
“We were not looking for a ring and did not think small bodies
like Chariklo had them at all, so the discovery — and the amazing
amount of detail we saw in the system — came as a complete surprise.”
- Felipe Braga-Ribas, Astronomer, National Observatory, Brazil

ESO illustration of 155-mile-diameter (250 km) asteroid Chariklo
surrounded by two dense and narrow rings that are about 12.4 miles
(20 km) wide discovered by telescopes of the European Southern
Observatory in South America. Chariklo is about 1.4 billion miles from Earth.
Other ringed bodies known in our solar system are Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter
and Neptune. See ESOcast. See: March 26, 2014 journal Nature.

That really is a big surprise to me.
Of course this just has to be in the game.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I agree I would love to see these in the game. Maybe as a very rare find. Though in reality perhaps they are reasonably common? Anyway, I really hope Frontier find a way to add these in at some point. It's the sort of thing I'm sure David would like to do.

in the category: bizzare/strange asteroids.

i just wrote it a couple of months ago talking about exploring possibilities in game.:D

i mean: i expected any bizzarre possibility to include in the game, not this particulary thing of the asteroid with rings ofc.
