Photocopied Log - do you remember?

Hello,

I remember playing Elite on the Apple //e in 1984. If I remember correctly there was a page at the back of the manual that was the Pilot's Log. I filled in pages of that log whilst playing Elite.

I filled it in showing what was sold, where I was going and where I came from.

Did anyone else fill it in? Or am I sad for doing so?

Will there be a log in the game now?

I didn't use the log, I used sheets and sheets of A4, trying to map everything and marking good trading routes ;)

Have a look at the DDF archive.
I think there is going to be an on-line log for your pilot (not sure how detailed, cannot remember). A 21st century version of photocopied logs.

I used graph paper myself.

By the time Frontier:Elite II came out, I was in college, and I used a spread sheet. Since my favorite thing to do in that game was small package courier missions, I also had spread sheets with ships specs on them, where I could input things like distance to destination, turnover time (where I'd flip my ship over and burn hard away from the planet I'm zooming towards at high rates of speed) and how long the total trip would be.

I also had a spreadsheet with system specs in it, like average distance from primary for emergence from hyperspace, minimum and maximum distance for nearest station or spaceport, and other important information.

I nearly played it on the apple IIe I was looking at elite and an adventure game by level 9 for some reason I always chose the adventure games back then, a few years later I played elite on the cmd 64 and loved it.
