Phsychola's mechanical function?

Any theories or official word on what causes the front and back rotation in the Psychola cars?
Is it meant to be 'guest controlled' or maybe just random?
Either way the rides are stunning and I find myself watching them for extensive periods. It is well worth the wait for quality like this!
I'm excited to see more of our favorite classic rides played out in such a mechanically beautiful way.

At the Original ride it is guest controlled.

I am not sure, but i think someone mentioned a while back there is a motor behind the wheel connected to the seats.
