Pics of the Cargo Scoop

I was thinking that people where probably wondering how the cargo scoop looks like on the Sidewinder. Since it is hard to see under ones own ship, I kindly asked CmdrBond if he could be so nice and show me his. Here are the results:

And as a bonus, Cmdr James Weaver being blown up by Cmdr Bond, strictly in the name of science of course.

Nice pic - I wonder if we can blow the doors off if they have the scoop open and you fire at it so that all the cargo can fall out - another item to add to the targeting options.

Precisely this is already possible - the cargo doors are a targetable area. You gain a bounty on your head from doing this, but not nearly as much of a bounty as you get from killing a ship.

'You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!'

Is the Cargo Scoop an actual Scoop? Or do the doors just open?

Looking at the screenshots again, I wonder if the 2x3 circles we see on both sides a little bit ahead of the scoop are not the forward thrusters used for breaking and reverse throttling the ship. The underside of the Sidewinder has quite a few details.

Would have been nice if you had set up with a cargo pod in front of you in Ethics and Credit and then watched him fly up and scoop it.

These comments score an "Infamy! Infamy!, they've all got it in for me!" on the Double-Entendre scale

Interesting pictures of the Cargo Scoop

Unfortunately after your above quote I've now got a 'vision' of Kenneth Williams piloting a ship in a film version of "Carry on Cargo Scooping", with Sid James cast as an artfull bounty hunter, or pirate....thanks.......:D

Jack :)

I always thought that the cargo scoop was a retractable robotic arm.
