Engineers Picture frames in Hyper space???

What have you done to hyperspace sequence???

All I see is picture frame textures of stars and clouds, I like the line speed effect but the sharp rectangle edges in hyperspace of textures is ridiculous.

Fix asap as I have about another 2500 jumps to go to be back in the bubble after DW, I used to see Venus de milo's but all I see now is texture picture frames.

Also while am at it fix that stupid stutter when actually entering a system, its not good and breaks immersion.

I agree. Was about to bring this up.

Can see the edges of cloud effects now, as well as whole frames filled with stars.

Apart from the bigger "tunnel", hyperspace looked much better before 2.1. >_>

Yep, optimization was not spot on this time. I guess it's a bit more fluent now but visually it's not on par with the previous one.

yep, can confirm that too! edges, texture planes and the cylinder. also the transition from and out of hyperspace isnt as fluent as before. you can see the beginning and end more clearly. I wonder how something which was great already can be made bad again?

I reported this in beta thinking it was a bug, but I'm guessing it was by design as I didn't receive any feedback. I'm fairly certain the fields of stars or dust that move towards you are actually planar scaling textures; if you look 90 degrees to port or starboard in a ship with good visibility you can see them all line up as you fly "through" the texture. Once seen, never unseen. I can only hope these "optimisations" have been done to free up more CPU cycles for the client/server instance negotiation, otherwise it's just uglification for the sake of it. The previous version of hyperspace was beautiful.
