I recently returned form a trip to Sagittarius A* and my camera worked overtime on this trip, somehow I managed to snap over 250 screenies, I can't recall any other game I played in the past to compelled me to just take screenshots, much less as many, so i thought I bring you some of my favorites.
I have omitted black holes here for the most part as I became enamored with them on this trip and packed those in a separate thread found here.
The whole thing stared plenty harmless enough, after my trusty Asp Intrepid had another little farting accident near my home world
Ooops.....
I thought it be best to clear the vacuum and set my eyes on some new horizons
New Horizons in the reflection
Quickly selecting a initial route and throttle to the stop off we go
4.. 3... 2... 1..
Jumping out of the system just ahead of an angry crows with clothespins on their noses
engage
and off we are to find new wonders and following the arrows?
wonder where those stars are pointing to
now that way? make up your mind
heading up on the galactic plane, it feels like flying above a cloud bank on the old earth
skimming the clouds
To quote a classic movie.. My God, it's full of stars.
now where did i put that DVD again...
It did not take long for my curiosity to set in and starting to have a closer look at some planets out there.
no, not a ringed water world, just a really blue gas giant
HMC (High Metal Content) planet with lava lakes in rings, my grandma's recipe, very tasty
very HOT planet and no, not smoke, just a nebula behind it.
button world, there was even a sign don't press the button on it
OMG, you blew it up (no, not a nuke cloud but a yellow moon behind it)
Bring your flash light, a dark water world orbiting a black hole
Sunrise over a HMC with lava lakes, nicely contrasted on the shadow side
Blood Moon or red dwarf?
Dirty looking marble
this planet smelled funny but then it was the first ammonia world i found
Nice contrast and it reminds me a bit of the chest piece of my avatar
dark rings, someone forgotten to pay their electric bill?
found a little lensing on the sun when trying to capture the planet fading into the dark, quite nice effect.
i hope that's not the little cloud my Asp left back home, expanding...
a water world partially framed by a nebula
two tidally locked, ringed planets, this one being a water world if i remember right
Water world inside a red nebula makes for a nice stark contrast
as does this one, almost austere
found a teraformable water wor.. moon around a gas giant, including its own ring
approaching a Planetary nebula, this is only one jump out and the ice belt here provides for a nice dramatic background.
inside the nebula i found this little marble
at least they had a rather bright star in that nebula
the coloring inside of it is to me just amazing and i love how it reflects in the canopy
after leaving i jumped to the closest system and looked back at it
Sunblocker with an Asp factor
And speaking of suns.... here are some star shots, do bring your own sun screen
mt Sun is bigger then yours
that flare almost made it look like a mater transfer between the two
Sunrise over a sun
my first Herbing star i came across
some Glare those 3 put out, and i can't find my sunglasses
Light play with two stars
the Disney™ System
in the ring around T Tauri star
above above mentioned ring
Sunrise over a ringed world
Parade of Stars, now serving number 3, Number 3 please....
My first C Carbon Star with a companion, pretty toasty if you try to scoop there.
and to bring this to a close, I like to leave you with the austere beauty of an ice belt
I do hope you enjoyed those and yes, I left populated space again, out for trip #4. (figure posting a huge post like this may have a similar effect as my Asp's .... accident so I'm on the run, again..)
