Pilot federetaion supply for AX pilots

Never ever in history of humankind I heared about war, where soldiers had to left the frontline and go somewhere for rearm. In every war the supply is delivering to the frontline. Pilot federation is supporting AX pilots only in combat bonds. But there is new kind of war. War with thargoids and its very expensive for synthesis (limpets, ammo, heatsinks) I think pilot federation should send supply ships to anti xeno combat zones for support.

This is Space, its not like rolling a few trucks along a dusty path to some FOB 🤷‍♂️

If only Space Mats could be traded. Like with the bartender in fleet carriers? Then the players could supply the war effort
There's no need really, how far away are you going to be from a Port or Carrier to enable you to rearm/refuel?
Synthesis for basic consumables (limps/ammo etc) is a false economy, you are trading a few minutes out of a battle zone for a later, longer materials grind 🤷‍♂️

I think that's the argument they are trying to make in favor of easier resupply. To not have to trade as much time with such a high priority war going on.

But the Pilot's Federation isn't a warfighting power? They don't have a standing military or supply lines?

Their strength is based on soft- power effects centred on finance, status and influence, rather than raw military, the latter of which the superpowers of Empire, Federation and Alliance would be quick to see as a direct threat and move to put down quickly.

I doubt the PF could do anything more than remunerate.

No real military would use turrets that do less damage than fixed weapons either.
No real military would limit the use of effective weapons for "reasons".

I'm not entirely sure that ammo is proved right at the front line, maybe not far from it, though. Doesn't seem to far fetched the way it is, though it is kind of funny to see all of the npcs run out of ammo and just sit there waiting to die.

There's not even enough ammo to destroy Medusa, Hydra alone. Or it's not a single player game anymore?

I'm not an expert, but there are real-world engineering concerns affecting turreted weapons such as needing a bigger turret to mount a bigger gun and tank destroyers etc were built until those could be worked around better.

I think there's multiple stories of soviet aircraft engineering where they tried mounting too big and/or too many guns/cannons on planes and it went poorly even though the planes made it to production for a while. The AX gun limitation might be imagined as something similar, though it's clearly for gameplay reasons to hinder instagibbing in larger ships without increasing the health pool too much so small ships become too unviable.

There are a few questions here.
1. large ships are not as fast or as maneuverable and therefore absorb a lot of damage from the Thargoid cannon. They are expensive and the penalty for them is high.
2. I already wrote somewhere nearby, there are missiles with corrosive damage they do not damage the Thargoids at all, but they are part of the group of weapons with the limit of 4.
That is, the limit of 4 guns has nothing to do with the rapid destruction of the Thargoids.

Well I haven't been able to get more than 2 hearts opened up on a basilisk. One on a medusa and that's with the help of the npcs if they don't go stupid and if they stay near the cap ship.
If I make it to they hydra stage, I have already had to manufacture replacement ammo once. I doubt I'd even get a heart on of those hydras to glow. Usually its me, the cap ship and maybe an ncp left at that point and I don't have to practice bleeding so I leave.
