I've got some productivity improvements to suggest ... Otherwise loving the game...
1) Galaxy Map - when searching for a system, after viewing the system map, the galaxy map returns to your current location.. it should return to the searched location; pilots can always click on the current location link to get back to "home"
2) Flight log history.. if this could be stored on the local PC and viewed in the left hand panel under navigation. This would be very useful to review, see where you have been, for how long, and possibly which star ports you used (nested) per visit. Also, the option to add notes, either voice recording or text whilst in the system.. may be a reminder before jumping to add a note; an option to toggle on or off.
The reason I suggest this is that the game uses a 1:1 ratio of our galaxy and quite simply is enormous.. Keeping a track on where you have been, and any notes you can make that assist with your plans and journeys would be an massive help. We could also post stuff in a public place so pilots entering a system or using the galaxy map could read short useful notes by other pilots..
3) Copy and Paste - I see some else mentioned this.
4) Predictive Search on Galaxy tab.. some of these stars systems have rather mad names, a help whilst searching would be nice..
5) Higher Res on Galaxy Map, and the ability to slide the side menu on an auto hide..
6) To do list that can pop up any where such as looking at bulletin board or galaxy map..
7) Better Friends contact list with option to track through conversations.
8) Probe Launch - send probe in formation with ship (camera views of external ship) and give it options to assist with combat such as scanner blocking, virus up load near target etc. Possible send long range probes to different star systems and have them return - one jump range at a time.. if you have the money, send out 3 or 4 probes to local systems for scanning Intel on wanted targets or market info. The probe could also scan an system star. Data only recovered on return of probe - commands to return sent over subspace or a time limit imposed. Commands such as scan star, look for "wanted name" or get market prices" would be options.
