Pilot reset related questions

Hello,

if I go through with my idea of restarting with a new pilot,

1) what will happen with the systems and planets my current pilot found first / mapped first?
2) Will I be able to create a new pilot with the same name?

If you're clearing your save then I'm pretty sure you keep your Commander name, you don't get to choose a new one.

Disclaimer: I'm assuming this, since I've never actually done it (yet).

Every thing mapped keeps the original name even if you change Cmdr name after a reset. (I've done this a few times to map a whole system with different Cmdr names on the same account).
You can use the same Cmdr name.
I have a feeling that no one else can use your old Cmdr name - makes sense.

No, you can choose a new name. But the old name is still only for that account, so you can go back. Exploration finds stay assigned to original name.

Unless you’re on console; I don’t think you can choose a new commander name unless you change your console ID tag (or create a new console account).

CMDR name is always the same...

Didn’t think we could change it to be honest, it’s my profile name on xbox.

Would make more sense if our ship ID was our profile name and we could name our CMDR whatever...

Must be the only RPG out there where you can’t easily rename your avatar.
