Pilots can just log and vanish?

Some one tried to pod me today, first time a player tried that on me, it did not turn out so good for him. I was just about to kill him and he vanished. Whats up with that?

There's a 69 page thread about this "combat logging" in the stickies at the top of the forum. Its cheating basically.

lol.. can always identify an Eve player :)

Yeah, it's something I believe they are working on. FD definitely considers it an exploit, so you can report the pilot in game.

I don't understand why people bother playing in open if they are going to just log off at the first sign of trouble. I don't want to get shot at by other players, so I don't play in open.

Was it near Altair about 9 ish gmt. I tried to interdict player. It failed because im usless. He then interdicted me. Game on I thought. Forgot I was in cobra with no point defence. Next hit with missiles. Shield collapsed and hull 30 % down. I thought missiles were in effective through shields I was wrong. Also mass locked by another cobra. Eventually hit fsd. Then immediately selected any system as did not want interdicting again. Made to station with 1min air supply left. Fitted pds and came back to altair but no one there. So switched to asp and continued with rares. If it was you the small bounty was a insentive. Maybe next time.

hey as a fellow ex eve online player we no longer have to worry about podding, instead we seperate from our ship and magically get a new one a the nearest station. Though i wonder how we get from dead to being alive again. Perhaps pods with cybernetic workins are working in this universe after all
