Pilots licence

I keep hearing how the game is too challenging for New players and I get that from my few days in Beta and beyond.

My suggestion and it's probably not unique, is to offer a Pilots licence option.

Players selecting this option earn credits for successfully completing missions. They can even earn rank and graduate with a hearty balance but they don't suffer loss for mission failure or death.

Why is this you may ask?

The enhanced pilot training is sponsored by <insert company of choice> who are conducting market research (possibly on a ship manufacturers product).

New players learn at their own pace without the harsh loss of resources associated with full game failures.

Just a thought. Please feel free to ignore or explore as you see fit

This could work into crimes and punishment too.

You can pay off fines, etc, but maybe you'd have a number of 'points' per time period. But, ultimately, maybe extreme infractions, or at least infractions against other pilots in the Pilot Federation, would go on your permanent license.

If no accidents or infringements happens for a time, then have reduced rebuys, per license?

Or requiring one to obtain different license classes to operate civilian transport vehicles, or hazardous waste? Or following anything like ETS, long distance licenses etc?

Currently if an officer pulls me over and asks if I have a license to move 18 workers, all I have to say is "well, I bought the game, so.."

If this was in place, maybe a cop would also scan my license, compare it to what Im carrying, and I may get a ticket.

This could easily turn into a whole release season (not that they're still doing that). Elite Dangerous : The Law

Maybe have it so you have to agree to being licensed but by agreeing to it, you get better payouts, more protection if in trouble, etc but you run the higher risk of being ticketed if you dont follow the laws. Also, to operate a bussing service (there seems to be a fair number of pilots interested in that) it benefits you a lot to have a license and operate legally, etc.

To become a pilot who is also a cop, you may need a license. (I think being able to join local and/or sector/galaxy security would be fantastic!..they're busy trying to make algorithms for C&P to work, how about just let federation pilots sign up to enforce the law)

If you dont agree to having a license, all stays as it is now.
