Some more info in the in the first 20mins of the video, Pimax claims if you own any previous pimax headset you can get the full purchase price back if you buy this one, dunno details and i am skeptical about this.

You guys can scoff all you want but I think it's telling that they went from 6k$ to this price, it's a good thing. While not lots will be willing to buy at this price this is how prices do come down eventually.

Hopefully someone can compete with this kind of tech offering for like half of this price in the next few years.

One of these days I should really try jury-rigging the thing to play Elite.
