After the price drop I could not wait any longer; 8K, 200 FOV is still far off, and this price is not painful.
However: I have heard rumors; are there any pits and traps I should know about; any pimax users here who can share what you have learned so far?

If they or any company will get vr right with out diving goggles, it might be worth while. It's still just a gimmick so far. They can't do 4k and now 8? LMAO

It's a 4k display split in half so technically 2k which is better than rift or vive.

+ Perfect for movies
+ no screen-door effect
- Horrible for most VR games
- no positional tracking
- you can connect your headset to SteamVR but no VR controllers.
- low brightness
- smearing
- Framerate is capped at 60

What kind of crazy beast PC do you need to run VR at acceptable frame rates at 4K (per headset display?)

Edit - ok, it's 4K across the two displays. That's fair enough.
