I'm a beta backer, and have been playing ED through it's iterations since beta 1. I have to say that today was a superb dog fighting day.
My last weeks trading profits contributed to pimping my Sidewinder - 2 x beam lasers, mil-spec hull, 2 x point defence turrets, enhanced FD drive, uprated shields, thrusters and fuel tanks.
Reduced my cargo holdings to 2 save weight and deactivated the cargo hatch to save power and wow - what a different animal the Sidewinder has turned out to be. I just about scraped into "Novice" from a "Harmless" rating after todays fighting; as well as the NPC's, also took down some humans as well.
To increase my interdictions (any excuse for a fight today) and mugging attempts at those Unknown Signals I carried round a single gold bar all day. Works like wonders - honey trap for those pirates lol!
Combined with my X55 and Rift it's one of the best Boxing Days I can remember.
