Engineers Pinned Blueprints... Only 1?

Seriously why? Once discovered and contact initiated with an Engineer you should be able to view all the recipes from the Engineers menu no matter where you are.

It's year 3302 and apparently our ships computers can only hold 1 blueprint worth of information? Why force everyone to minimize the game and go to some website?

So many quality of life swings and misses from FDev but this one is just astonishingly ridiculous.

Time issue probably, 2.1 was already delayed no sense in delayed it farther when you have alt+tab and the internet to use for now

My guess is that the limitation may have more to do with fitting the engineers information into the in-ship UI, which is different from the station UI system. I'm not saying it's impossible, I just think it's something they didn't feel was a priority for this patch. Like many other UI quality of life things (Galaxy Map bookmarks, finally!), this may come down the road. It's still an ever-building game.

In the mean time, there are many online resources:

Yes, but they built the system with a "Pinned Blueprint"... seems they could have almost as easily just changed "Pinned Blueprints" to just "Blueprints" and then upon selection given you the same UI menu we have for all other ship UI selections such as navigation to then select which upgrade to view. (The "Lock Destination" or "Cancel")

The fact that it is setup for one blue print makes me think it was intentional.. No idea why other than FDev likes making QoL hard on players. The budget excuse just doesn't add up to me.

Click on any Engineer to see known Blueprints

That's a great website and I am glad there are people putting stuff like that together.. but why should we have to minimize in game to go look at it? Especially after we've already visited engineers...

It is strange they did that. It's not as if you can't see the other blueprints until you unlock them. I mean, they're all available to loom at, so there's no secret. I'm leaning towards a time constraint on their part, otherwise, it's just kind of silly to restrict pinning to just one bp.

The FD youtube video I watched on engineers & crafting mentioned being able to pin 1 blueprint per engineer. Is that incorrect?

I agree with your sentiment here but until they implement more in-game information you might try what I've done. I run in borderless mode and have a second smaller monitor on one side of my "cockpit" with a web browser open to important information sources like this site, EDDB.io, Coriolis.io, Inara.cz, etc. I still have to click in the game window when I return but at least I don't have to minimize the game. I also run the game to start in the larger monitor which is not my main monitor, there a setting for choosing which monitor to use.

That sounds like a nice setup. The disadvantage for a player like me, and this is my choice and I'm not complaining, is that I play in VR. Using a second monitor isn't very helpful. I use my phone and peek under the hmd to check what for what I need to know. So, multiple pinned bp's, or just access to all of them would be nicer.

Thank you. I'm aware of that at Inara, but what I was referring to is in the UI, so I didn't have to keep removing my HMD.
Im think not enought memory on ship computer.

Another thing to fix, bah engeeners going to transforms to pooreneers,

I not go to waste more time with this, im very frustrated, nice improvements but FD really have a hard work to do with this update, or 80% of players go to uninstall the game on future 3 months.

I'm sure no one will want to buy another pack of "fixes" or rather "season of fixes" or "season of forums mad posts"

Yeah there was a livestream where something was mentioned I can't remember exactly why but I think it was coding difficulties. I'll see if I can dig something up after work.

They should simply add the ability to see all the recipes via Engineers menu in the right tab ("Browse blueprints" instead of "See pinned blueprint").

Memory chips are made from Gallium Arsenside - both rare elements in 3302. Your ships computer only has enough memory for one blueprint per Engineer.
