Pip Management: Presets

Dear Frontier;

Can we please have Pip presets rather than having to juggle reset->pip movements.

By now most people have a good idea of how they like their pips;

Personally I have four main settings (4/0/2, 4/2/0, 2/4/0, 0/2/4) that I use and I have fancy "out of game" macros to change between these settings; I don't use any other variations.

Can we please have in-game presets for pip management and hotkeys to switch between them?

When you are in combat your not dealing with one setting. Your Miro Managing your Pips. Now players learn to use voice attack to manage their pips or Macros that will do somewhat what you want it to.

With the upcoming 2.3 release I didn't want to get into a lot of enhancements at this point but am totally into Voice Attack plus adding the HCS Voicepacks to them. Check out their sites and this Video combining them all together especially at timeline 9:50 per changing pips. I've also seen them setup for personalized pips in other videos. One pretty awesome edition to enhance the game play.

Yes we can read. But since the likelihood that Frontier will ever do this is slim to none we're offering some additional interesting ways to use those macros. It is positive information that for me took a little work to put together for you. Use it or not. Can you be nicer the next time you respond?

I'm sorry if you felt that your suggestion was diminished or were threatened by alternative solutions. That was not my intention still I can see how you might have taken it that way. But many games do not add macro support given the so many different ways imaginative players can come up with how to use them. That is why the hardware manufacturers love it making custom gaming keyboards, gamepads, joysticks, HOTAS and even mice for all the macros anyone could desire. I could run these PIPS in a heartbeat on a 4-way switch on my HOTAS throttle. There are tons of solutions. Others attracted to this post may also find the info informative and valuable to them as well. That is how it works or hope for on the good days. Anyway it is just a community who love the game and try to help. Don't judge us too harshly.

Voice attack helps. I have setup commands like "SHIELDS" (All shields and rest to engines),Combat Shields (shields and engines), Combat Weapons (Engines and weapons), power to weapons, etc

I also find it convenient to be able to simply say what you want while in battle. While Turning I will just say engines, then as I face them Weapons, etc

I'd imagine that you voice attack people are adverse to having a docking request keyboard binding because it can be scripted as a macro and you can say "hey I want to dock now please?"

Well whether that is scripted as "1, page-right, page-right, select, down, select,page-left,page-left" or "request docking key" you can talk to your computer in either case.

No one is trying to take away your voice attack; just asking for it to be easier for people who don't use it.
