I was wondering what to target in NPC pirating drives or power plant and I noticed something wierd. When you destroy drives ship continues with its speed before drive destruction. On the other hand when you destroy power plant it stops immediately. So again no use of missiles which are good in blowing up drives, because in slow ship like Python you cant catch target. So when i do pirating missions from BB i like to target power plant. Piracy is now even harder and underpayed, police come after 1 min and always 2-3 strong wing. So i would like to be when you destroy drives that ship stops like with power plant because it is impossibe to take 50t of more cargo for pirate misson if ship moves. Also it would be nice if you destroy cargo hatch that all cargo drop because for type 9 with specific cargo to take from its cargo bay it can take ages. Pls guys tell your opinion. Thx.
I agree with all of this. Piracy missions are REALLY REALLY hard now, which is, actually, cool, I like a challenge.
The thing is, getting the cargo you need is really tough, as these ships are full of other stuff. Shooting the hatch twenty times, or firing twenty hatch breakers is entirely implausible, VERY often, by the time the cargo you need drops, your engaged by four or more police ships, which is an entirely untenable position for anything but a huge ship (and only because they can tank the hits for longer, and hence grab the cargo, or wait for slow limpets to bring it in.)
I think it could really use some kind of balance pass, it seems REALLY close to being amazingly fun.
I;ve tried doing things like shooting the hatch/firing limpets once shields are down, then going silent running to nab the cargo while the cops search for me, and this feels amazingly fun, but it's getting the actual cargo you need to drop in time that seems to be the main issue.
I also tried going all out super agressive to get the cargo out, then just crush the ship to get it off my back, and try to speed scoop/collector limpet the cargo.
Also tried to fight off the cops, but you just end up with more and more (which is a good response, and needs to exist to solve the problems of cops responses being almost none existant)
I think, the main thing, would be to somehow make the cargo you need drop more readily. Perhaps hatch limpets would always pull out mission cargo first. Perhaps they would make everything drop from mission NPCs, perhaps taking the hatch to 0% drops all cargo?
Something is needed though, but I don't THINK it's to make it more easy, it's to make the cargo more available for actually getting hold of.
