Ok. Hi, folks. I'm new to the ED forums. And semi new too ED itself (been playing for two maybe two and a half weeks and). When I first started I won't lie, I played privately for a bit with a friend. He showed me the ropes and helped me hond my skills a little bit. But now I'm at the point where I'm flying solo. I've got three fully outfitted ships, Fer-de-lance, vulture and a dolphin for passenger missions. Anyways. I was watching a video on YouTube about how too begin a life of piracy (I watch ED videos randomly too pick up what tips and tricks I can from more experienced players.) and in the comments were people discussing how solo play mode has ruined the ED piracy game. Which, I can understand. So I comment. Basically stating how I play in open play exclusively now, have been since I was in the viper etc etc. And I had an idea on how too maybe bring back piracy as a legitimate (tongue in cheek moment) career in ED.
In my time playing I've rarely bumped into other players. Even in open play. Now this could be berthed are in private or solo. But still. And the ED galaxy is bloody ginormousganticfliptasticallyhuge. Why is solo really needed in a galaxy this size? Do players really run into each other all that often? Why not close down solo play and just keep open?
If traders are worried bout pirates I had an idea on how too handle it. (I wish I had my YouTube comment it was much more well structured then this one.) anyways, if a trade route is getting plagued by piracy more and more heavily why not have in the contacts section of the star port services menu or something an area for players too 'report' high pirate activities. This would be shared with starports in a specific radius (maybe 150ly max?) too other players (bounty hunters can bounty hunt pirates) and if that doesn't help cut back on the number of pirate activity in the system or along the route there could maybe possibly be a mechanic added where the nearest super power in game could be so inclined too send their police forces too the area too monitor and try too counter the pirate threat. Idk. Maybe it's a dumb idea? I thought it sounded cool. I'm sorry for the wall of text on my first post. I'll shut up now, lol.
