Pirate Ambush a bit Much?

All non-surface salvage missions (i.e. black box, commercial samples, ect.) have a chance to spawn a pirate ambush. It's not really new. Before 3.1, as long as you didn't have cargo, they'd just scan you then leave. Now they immediately start firing. And I literally mean immediately as in 1-2 secs of warping in. No scan no warning no nothing. While I admit this is cool and all I think the number of pirates that spawn is a bit much.

I just died in my A rated Cobra Mk III by a Asp Explorer and 3 Viper Mk IVs. It was only a Surveyor ranked mission. I've had easier fights doing Deadly ranked assassination missions. If Fdev thinks that's doable solo I think they are mistaken. I'm not a pro pilot but I'm very confident I'm at least above average. Outmaneuvering 4 heavily armed pirates, getting shots off, and trying to stay near the mission objective is near impossible solo. I say trying to stay near the objective because multiple times with these mission types I've drifted so far away from a black box (or whatever it is that you're supposed to retrieve) that I could no longer see it on the radar despite trying my best to find it after I dealt with the pirates. Then, just in case you thought having to warp out to get another mission USS wasn't annoying enough, the very same pirates will ambush you again at the "new" mission USS even if you killed them already. So you end up trying to outmaneuver 4 pirates, killing them, and trying to stay near the objective all over again.

This isn't fun. It's frustrating. The only way to do these without being frustrated is picking up the objective asap then running away praying that your hull holds. While this method is suspenseful I find it cowardly and boring. My suggestion: make these wing mission or tone down the absurd amount of pirates that spawn. Or at the very least nerf the type of ships they spawn in. It should match the mission rank.

Also I was going to put this in the bug section but a few others beat me to it. Fdev responded with "working as intended" which I obviously disagree with because not everyone enjoys flying huge heavily engineered ships.

Edit: Meant to put this in the Suggestions section. Can't figure out how to move/erase it. I don't write on the forums often. Sorry

To be honest this happened pre-3.1 too, you have to get in quick and get out quick, no messing. This isn't really new though. I will move it to the suggestions for you.

I must admit that after a clear-save restart (pre 3.1) I was in a Hauler at a USS when jumped and destroyed by a wing of NPC pirate scum within a few seconds when I had just scanned a Private Data Beacon. Looking at the log showed that a warning to leave their stuff or else was given at the same time as they started shooting. (I am now very "twitchy" when entering any signal sources.)

So I think that these are not actually "working as intended" and need adjustment.

I agree. The idea is good but the execution just needs adjusting. If it was just 1 or 2 pirates I wouldn't have cared. But 4 is a bit much for a solo contract. I haven't had it happen outside of a salvage mission though. Knock on wood

Oh really? I took a little break before 3.1 and never came across this problem. And thank you for moving it
