Pirate Boss in an Orca

So I was doing one of the Elite Anaconda bounty missions, and came across my target 3 times at a USS, but instead of an Anaconda, he was in an Orca.
There where no bounties at the ship in every case, and the missions end didn't trigger after killing him.

Anyone else got this?

The pirate boss in an Orca was likely just telling you some drivel about something or other that involves a fetch mission you are on.

You will get an alternate delivery NPC USS for EVERY SINGLE ONE of your active fetch missions when investigating USS before completing any other type of USS mission.

Save up a few assassinations, clear your other missions, then set about tge assassinations.

I certianly didn't have a fetch mission active, maybe another bounty mission.
I don't do fetch missions, as I don't even have cargo space.

He would have been telling you where the pirate was last seen.

I had this happen to me a few times as well. They had the same name as the assassination target but no bounty and in an orca. Same as you, no progress for killing them, I even did it 2 more times, and both times they were still in an orca.

Same for me, Pirate lord (someone named Abhram cleaver I think) kill mission; I have done dozens of these.
I had no other active missions
I went to a known location, got the "he was seen in XYZ", went to designated system
Target found in the 2nd USS, in an Orca, not wanted. I shot/killed it, I didnt get flagged as criminal, no bounty, no completion
found and killed him twice more, no info in coms panel; same- no completion, no bounty, didnt flag for shooting him.

Abandoned and did something else.

its a bug i've had three of these, orcas don't give credit currently, nor do they attempt to converse with you or as far as i can tell, shoot back. I did try to get infront of one to see if it would at least fire some weapons however i misjudged it and got rammed, instantly killing my asp ><, while it was my fault I can't help but feel it should work in the first place!

If I were a pirate I would want to STEAL THAT SHIP. So when is this getting added to the game? e.g. taunt it, target their FSD, then blast shields away then ask them to give it up (add a feature of escape capsule for them too before the need to blast its hull).
