There is no "best sell" station anymore. B4 they changed how demand worked, you had a very small number of places that miners were likely to sell at, usually just one to three in the bubble. Now they are selling at a lot more different stations than they used to be. So even if they are in open, you are less likely to find them than b4. I don't even check Inara for best sell anymore. I check the states of the nearby systems and just sell at the ones with states likely to bring better than average prices.
I've had moderate luck from time to time. A lot of the commodities merged on a single system a couple days ago and I was getting lots of players in.

I like how log out works in elite dangerous. It's a sort of balance to keep people from just getting trolled to much for the game to be fun for them. I mean lets think about this, is piracy killing players or taking their stuff? Last I checked dead traders and miners don't pay well. The current log system leaves enough time for most to use hatch breaker limpets before they get out of game, so the pirate can still get his meal. Just means the scared trader/miner can avoid a senseless PK if the pirates dont just take the loots, and say good day.
If anything I'd like to see them expand piracy... maybe make unique commodities for them, or modules to steal like trade/exploration data by hacking computers on other ships... I see a lot of promise in piracy that hasn't been tapped, but most importantly I think Fdev has done a great job keeping piracy and grief killing separate, best they can given the situation.
No it does not. People log out the second they get interdicted. It's broke piracy and legit pvp/bounty hunting, just ganking still works.
But keep apologizing the loggers...
its been a while since I used a ship other than my corvette to pirate miners at borann back in the day. But my method meant I rarely had to interdict, the few cases I did because they low waked and I hadn't gotten a successful hatch break yet. Not to say I haven't been bummed out by the occasional fast logger, but it isn't so bad that it killed it for me.
