Pirate missions, Police attacking and Turrets

1. Pirate kill missions:

Okay i've read all the posts about having to kill many before any count for the mission and this isn't just a complaint about that. I can see why not all those kills count since while they are wanted in that system i'm guessing they are not actually wanted by the faction you have the mission for so do not count. My question is does the KWS tell you what factions have a bounty on the target or just if FED/EMP/IND are paying out bounties on them?

It just seems silly that you get a mission to kill specific targets (pirates to the faction) at a specific location but at that location you have no way to identify who the target is and just have to do a lucky dip killing anyone that is wanted hoping that they happen to be a target for the mission. If the KWS doesn't give you that information is there any other way to tell?

2. Police attacking:

No this isn't another 200 bounty whine from friendly fire (as often as that happens though).

I'm finding that quite often that when I go hunting i'll find someone that is wanted, I'll proceed to kill them, I get the bounty message after I kill them yet as soon as i've killed them in the comes the police go "Criminal!!!" or whatever it is and proceed to open fire on me yet I don't even have a local bounty. I'm guessing this is naturally a bug but is there anything specific that seems to trigger it like attacking a specific type of wanted or a wanted in certain types of systems or when there are certain numbers of police around etc? Something that can be used to avoid it?

3. Turret fire:

Seen a few different complaints about turrets but i'm not sure if this is one of them. I put some on to see how they work and set them to fire at current target then went hunting. I target a pirate and they don't do anything until I start attacking it with the fixed guns then they start firing. I thought maybe that's a safety thing so they just don't go and fire on everyone you target to scan so only consider them a target once you've opened fire on them or they fire on you.

Anyway after killing that pirate i proceed to look for some more, scanned a cobra clean, targeted a viper that turned out to be police and before it even came up that he was clean my turrets started firing on him. He wasn't firing on me, he wasn't read on my scanner. Again I assume it is a bug but does anyone have any idea why it was the police they decided to start attacking and didn't do it to the cobra? And is my assumption about having to attack a target before the turrets will fire correct or how are they meant to work in determining what a target is and starting to fire?
