Pirateable Player Fleet Carriers

FDEV,

With Player Owned Fleet Carriers now quickly becoming a prominent component of Powerplay due to the sheer tonnage of materials that can be shifted using them, can we please have them be pirateable like Mega-Ships are?

It'd be nice to (i) see piracy return in some form as a usable in a powerplay context with regards to the parity with other choices and (ii) give small ship runners another outlet for being effective without having to subject ourselves to the grind for tedious, smelly, slow and generally uncool big ships.

Yours sincerly,
The AdderLyfe Posse.

You could make secure storage pirate proof (it is secure, after all) but everything else should be liftable.

But having this I would make it that FCs could be made 'invisible' by having its POI beacon switchable on /off (and that you have to go looking for some carriers).

Secure Storage for some stuff seems totally reasonable for materials and the ilk, perhaps?

However personally, I'm not keen on them being invisible, as if its a turn on/off thing, we'd see players flicking it on and off only fleetingly when they needed to dock up on their return after shifting another 762t out of its hold

I don't understand how that would work.

So a pirate could take assets from another player without even instancing with them (either from Solo, or by using the block list)? What gameplay mechanics would there by for the other player to prevent said theft?

By invisible I mean if you get near enough you'll 'see' them- so its cat and mouse.

Location, switchable discovery beacon perhaps (off, squadron only, full), secure storage. FCs also have nasty guns and depending where they are security from the system...

On second reading, that would be excellent, adding a bit of tactical hunting into the game that has been missing for a while. Perhaps tie it into the Signal Scanner?

FC will have 2 bars of storage where one is the secured and the second one is public. Let's say 5000 of units is the secured storage and 20,000 is public. So you can choose which type of cargo you want to keep in secure storage and which you can just leave "outside". Neat idea if I am to be honest.
