PvP Pirates rejoice, COMDR filter in starmap

Any indication we can reverse look up pirates, such as a filter based on systems or hot spots with PVP kills? Anarchy systems might have no police, but that shouldn’t mean the Pilot Federation doesn’t have monitoring equipment.

If they can do this for trade, it opens an avenue of development to allow other filters to be included in the future, if there is a compelling argument to justify the work.

Nice idea, Galnet should issue audio warnings. On the dark side of things, captains notoriously killing PC should have an advantage in getting clues about where and when PC is trading in Open...

Would fit into Anarchy systems your regarded a hero.

A filter that highlight the most active systems with player activity would be nice, all you really need is system data that state how many cmdrs we're in the system in the past hour and in the past 24 hours. Then you can tell which systems are the most active for potential PVP encounters.

Sort of like the website evemaps.dotlan.net

Jesus, another way to make it feel more like you're in a game than a plausible universe, why should any filter show just commander activity as opposed to NPC and Commander activity combined? NPCs run trade routes as well, if they are programmed properly they'll be on profitable routes as well as any commanders in the area.

I sort of want to agree with you but at the end of the day it is a game, and there is a difference between NPCs & players :)

It's necessary for the mmo side of things.. A fairly large portion of the community are not interested in the pretend movements of NPCs.

Yet if you ask "them" why they keep on about getting more players into open they usually deny it's because they prefer shooting real people than NPCs. Seems
to me this is one way to depopulate opne as players realise they are easier to find while running trade goods.

At the moment, the only place you can reliably go to pirate a player is a CG.. This feature will help pirates pick good trade run spots. People who want to gank will probably still go to the CG because they're not after cargo and target numbers will be higher than a trade route.

its no different than your friend list tool. A necessary tool for the multiplayer aspect of the game.

lol - I did think you called him a "tool", but you were saved by the grace of an absent comma :D

I do, especially when it's Cmdr Vindelanos!

It didn't turn out too well for me last time though, so when I've finished refitting I'll go looking for him again...

You're always welcome to steal my tasty cargo, Oubs! :)
