Place track rides over paths?

I've checked all the boxes in settings: "Disable scenery collision", "Disasble coaster collision" and "Disable ride collision". I can put scenery on flat rides so that part seem to be okay, but I can't seem to build my track rides over paths. I've tried laying the track down first and then the path and get the obstructed message. I've tried putting the track over an exsisting path and get the obstructed message. I've seen videos of players getting this to work so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

You know what would be cool? Is if they added a "Train crossing" piece that is kind of like the train station that lets you connect a path through it that causes guests to stop walking across it when the train gets close enough, with seperate scenery items for the gates/flashing lights...

Make that three peices: the actual crossing section, the approach section, and the ending section... (The approach and ending sections are for train detection so guests know when they can cross the tracks but are visibly identical to regular tracks in terms of flexibility save for length... Guests of course cheer and wave when they are stopped by a crossing when the train goes by...)

There is still collision detection with paths, they said they were still working on them

Hmm, really? How come it seems to be working in this video? Credits to Sdanwolf who made it.

Yeah, that would be awesome! I've seen some great workarounds for this on the workshop, but it would be great if the devs implemented these functions in the game.

Unfortunately not, same result.

When you checked all the boxes that disable collisions, did you then hit the APPLY and OK button at the bottom on of the screen? Until you do that, none of the changes you make on that game options screen actually take effect. Took me a while to figure that out :)

Anyway, with me, if you put the PATH first, then the track, no problems, PROVIDED you did actually hit the APPLY and OK buttons :)

You have "auto tunnels" checked. Uncheck this and you'll be able to place the track.

Hope I helped. [big grin][up]

Yeah, tried that both hitting apply first and ok first and it didn't help. Kept thinking I had to do SOMETHING wrong, probably something that's very easy solved. Usually that's the case with me. [rolleyes]
