Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters - Leaving Sale

Hello Park Managers.

Back in 2019 we were honoured and excited to bring a brand-new experience to Planet Coaster, the Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters pack! This epic collection of free roaming vapours brought the magnificent world of the Ghostbusters to Planet Coaster and your creations using it were amazing to behold!

We have truly loved seeing what you have made from this spooktacular addition, but as with all good things, there must be an end. Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters will no longer be available to purchase from the 6th of September due to license expiration. Anyone who has already purchased the game will still be able to continue to play as before, but future purchases of the title will not be possible after this date.

For those that have the Planet Coaster Subscription, many of you would have used this content to create some truly incredible parks, so we will be unlocking the Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters pack on your accounts for free, so you will be able to continue to use this content in your parks. If you cancel your subscription after September the 6th, your entitlement to the Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters pack will remain!

Subscriptions to Planet Coaster after the 6th of September will NOT include the Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters pack

Today is the 4th of September 2024. This is no longer available for new customers to buy as of 48 hours from your post?!? Or less?!?!? Timing on this seems awfully tight.

Edited to add: also, this announces a sale -- doesn't look like it's on sale, at the time of this edit I still see it at $14.99 when looking via a browser I'm not logged into Steam on (I bought this DLC back in 2019).

So that means that there will be no Ghostbusters in 2? Why are licenses only valid for a period of time? I see already that 2 is a different game. So we won't get the movie cars and Cedar Point and Carowinds stuff in PC2? I better make sure my Steam account is secure because I got hacked a couple times and actually rebought the game after making a new account. I later found out they can get your old account back if you message them, but I couldn't find a place to contact them then I finally did. My password was compromised again maybe a couple months ago. Even with 2 being better than the first game, there is content that will probably not be ported over and nothing from the first game will work in 2. So, you need to have both games installed. PC1 won't be obsolete because 2 will take a while to have the amount of stuff there is in PC1. And if they are not renewing the Ghostbusters license, that means that the Ghostbusters pack won't be in 2 in the future. So, no Ghostbusters in your water parks. That will never happen. We will probably get different DLC in 2.

Money, of course. It was cheaper to buy an unconscionable short-term license (which we were NOT informed of at the time, not informed of until literally yesterday) and then sell us the DLC as if . . . oh, why bother. They obviously (In my “I've put years into this” opinion) couldn't care less how badly they're hurting us (and that links to just one example).
