Haha it already happened lastnight dude!

The eternal (literally) problem with time zone conversion. Are we ahead, or behind :)

Luckily for me it was easy enough - the Frontier offices are only 30 mins away from my house. I could just about figure out the time difference :)

hahah... stupid time zones! [haha]

...and me.

Dude - you missed nothing of importance - other than they clarified that everything post trailer was in engine. By the way, what is your expectation of UGC in this game? Personally I can't see them not including it. Strange it's not announced yet though..

Thanks, Deuce. I read this on ShyGuy's:

Will User-Generated Content be incorporated into the game?

As mentioned before, we’ll be providing the ability for you to share your creations in-game with the rest of the Planet Coaster community. We’re offering hundreds of artist authored wall pieces, windows, sculptures, fountains and animated decorative items for you to combine in any way you can imagine. The quality and consistency we believe offers the perfect toolset for building perfect parks.

Sounds like they'll have a lot of content, and their toolset might be versatile enough to not have to rely on UGC, at least for a while?

Call me old fashioned - but I like UGC, no matter how amazing the content that ships with the game is, there is no substitute for infinite additions!

That said, in the case of PC, I do get the impression that tools provided could make the game endlessly creative without any outside help. We're entering a whole new chapter it seems :)

Probably still wise to expect UGC at some point, on some level though. And I personally do expect it will appear by release anyway. I can't see Frontier mucking a feature that gave the previous game a healthy decade+ of life.

I have a good feeling about this. We'll probably (hopefully) be quite busy with the stock scenery and perhaps quality expansions for a good a while. Maybe the tool kit will be extensive enough to omit any urgency for UGC, at least early on. If objects can be combined in a way that they would truly create fresh themes, that would be a huge plus. In other words, if you want to build some kind of space themed ride, and you need something that resembles a distant planet, you don't have to rely on a giant baseball from an included sports theme.

First off I do agree with you, please don't flame me. I even produced some CS sets myself.

However, apart from game longevity, did it net Atari or Frontier any of the all important spondulix? Also, it wasn't a feature, it was actually pretty difficult to implement, but perfected by a number of talented community members.

(Edit) Ha! Right on que JCat ;)

A lot of content is great.
And it sound like that yes. (like "lego"), which is i very good idea.

But ... nothing can replace the 3D models import (for the textures, for example)
And deny players to import their own creations would be somewhat ... counterproductive. [rolleyes]

Also, if they offer nothing in this direction, players will be forced to break the game (again) in order to integrate it, which would be unfortunate. I prefer that they incorporate this in the initial release.

My guess : we'll have to use the "online content manager" or something (in order to keep control on the amateur content production).
But I'm curious to know how they will handle our creations (and eager to start).

Yep, thats what it sounds.

Also, nothing is stopping the community creating a tool for UGC like RCT3 had. This is still on the Cobra engine, so maybe even adding UGC the way we did in RCT3 still works for this game if they dont change it too much.
What I hope if that happenes, we can have a good communty zone were we can download this UGC.

I'm also on the pro-UGC side - I think - but just my two cents about why I think ignoring UGC may not be a good idea. I believe a common argument in favor of UGC support is that it would indeed make people more inclined to buy the game. A usually brought up example is Cities:Skylines, which, although it's a completely different game and works with just custom assets, has benefitted greatly from a UGC support feature even though it also delivered quite a complete package in itself. The RCT3 CS community, though very small (also I should add, amazing to see such big names in the community such as you and JCat here!) has probably racked in quite a bit of cash over the years too, even if indirectly by keeping the game active. And of course, one look at the PC and RCTW forums shows that most people want to have UGC support in both games.

UGC is a must. I don't do this myself, but I download content created by talented people and it greatly improve the fun and possibility of a game.
