Planet Coaster - Third Anniversary

So you abandoned the game at three years. No more development, no new content, no new DLC added or no new packages to buy. NOPE! This game just hit the trash bin. Bye PC.
Wow, three years of support since release so far! That’s more than some other games get these days.

Why does this game have to “hit the trash bin”? An end to support doesn’t mean the game is ready to be thrown away. As far as I know Planet Coaster is still playable as well as enjoyable for a lot of players so I personally see no reason to “hit the trash bin” with it.

Just to understand it right ... Did you confirm here, that there will be no more support for PlanCo on PC? Or did I misunderstand you here. With all the confusion about the future of the CURRENT PlanCo for PC it would be fine, if we get just one clear answer. Further Support YES or NO?

I neither confirmed nor denied anything.

I am just a simple volunteer moderator without any knowledge about current and future plans of Frontier for Planet Coaster, apart from plans that have been publicly announced. I do not speak for Frontier.

In the capacity as forum user I merely wanted to state my personal opinion that Planet Coaster doesn’t have to “hit the trash bin” in case support ends. It is a great game in my humble opinion, and whether support has ended or not does not affect my opinion that it will stay and always will be a great game.

In other words, would a game suddenly become “trash” once support ends? My answer to that question is: no.

Other players are of course free to have another opinion. This is just how I feel about it.

Has support for Planet Coaster ended? I do not know. What I do know is that it will always be one of my favourite games, and whether support has ended or not does not affect that opinion for me, I will continue to enjoy the game and its community anyway. :)

Happy belated 3rd! Not always been an easy journey, but a journey like no other!

On this behalf i'd like to quote a few nerdy Star Trek quotes:

"To all mankind -- may we never find space so vast, planets so cold, heart and mind so empty that we cannot fill them with love and warmth."

and most important:

"Without freedom of choice there is no creativity."

With that said, thank you to everyone at FDev and the whole of the Frontier team for enabling and tickling our creativity so much!

I want to add that this is the first Game that really made me want to be creative. RCT3 had that a little bit, but Planet Coaster opened the Floodgates for me from Day 1. I also have to thank this game for so many genuine Friends i gained. I sound like a broken Record when i keep saying that this Game is very special to me, but it is true. I know how cheesy it sounds when i say it changed my life, but it is really true. Happy third Anniversary Planet Coaster :D And Thank you again Frontier for creating such an absolute Gem of a Game.

Unfortunatly he's quite right. We're in march and there's no DLC since last June, no update since a very long time, no nothing. It's sad cause this is one of my favorite games, by far. There are a ton of things to do yet. But it seems the game is dying slowly for the benefit of Planet Zoo and the console version (and now the F1 game...). I thank Frontier for all the happiness they brought me with this game that exceeded my expectations.

I'm still playing it a lot, but I often find myself frustrated by the field of possibilities which diminishes as time goes by. There are so many attractions that will never see the light of day in this game, and that would have deserved their place to be able to ensure endless possibilities to the game. Also several things that are important to me, like the fact that we can only play during summer on a green map (if you choose these maps), always sunny, always hot, no variation, no cloudy, rainy, snowy, cold... It creates some kind of monotony, decreases the possibilities of management, and, for me who really like the role play, prevents fun things like the possibility of placing a park in an actual geographic area to track the weather as it is in real life at that location, changing it as the temperatures manually. I already do this for the time each hour. There are so many things that could have been done!

The work that the developers have done is so spectacular that the game deserved to be fueled for a few more years. 3 years of effective life, with additions of content, it's really too short, almost a waste.

In fact, I have never been so frustrated that a game comes to a "complete stop" so quickly. And it is not because it was not officially said by Frontier that we do not see it. It's obvious. And as an enthusiast, it touches me more than any other game. But that's how life goes! Thank you again for the work you have done so far, you have brought the amusement park management simulation to something big. Very big. Thank you very much!

It is really disappointing that Planco seems to have ended so soon when i think how much money i put into it. And no the TMT is not a life support in my opinion.

Just went back from another smaller game which is alive and well due to some awesome new rides, coasters, designsets done by some wonderful people and where i can decide what i want to do.
Minutes back in PC it felt frustrating, limited and unfinished. So i stopped again, went back and i am a happy camper again. Even if there will be a PC 2 i am not sure if i will ever buy it after what i experienced here.
There has to be a hugh difference to what we got now.
