Planet Coaster

Is it just me, or is this starting to look flipping epic...?

For 20£, I'm very seriously thinking about pre-ordering.

I'm thinking a lot less seriously about the 50£ beta - for 35£ or 40£, maybe, but 50£ just feels a bit too steep!

Yeah I have pre-ordered this as well, its just looks so well done. I really love that you can custom design all the buildings if you want to :D

Does not take a lot of imagination to see those same people walking on the inside on a space station, does it? :)

I like where you're going with that thought, although with my flying 'skills' they'll be using the terrified and vomity animations more often than not.

:D

Games like this Championship Manager, Sim City etc I file in a draw labelled 'addictive crack'. Although my 5 year old loved the YouTube video's and wants to make a roller coaster. So, you know....

I got an e-mail a few days ago "VIP Backers - Planet Coaster Gift Code" I was a little disappointed it wasn't something cool to put my coffee cup on.

I used to have Theme Park for Atari Jaguar. Keeping the visitors happy was a real pain.

I bought the Alpha a couple of days after launch. My laptop (gtx970m) warms up very quickly when playing although it runs it well. Really impressed so far with what they have done. People are cartoony for obvious reasons but what they have done with them and the variety is nothing short of genius, I presume its proc gen and if it is it's hard to tell it is.

I'm in the alpha, and I am really impressed so far. HOWEVER, the things I needed to do to get the alpha running (involving messing with Visual C++ installs) BROKE OTHER GAMES AND SOFTWARE. E.g. I am currently unable to run Rocksmith 2014 even after reinstalling, and may have to completely reinstall Steam. I think my Photoshop is knackered too.

I absolutely love the style and sounds of PC though (again!)

I also can't help thinking of thousands of the fellas populating stations :D

Really strange - I downloaded the new launcher and everything worked first time. I even have ED running of the launcher. Windows 8 still, maybe that makes a difference.

Check this guy out, really good series. He knows all kinds of stuff about rollercoasters and architecture. Really cool given it's just the alpha.

I ended up reinstalling Windows! After that the patched launcher had no issues :).

VR would be great, but my i7 4770, 970 and 8 GB PC only hits around 40 FPS in a moderately busy park. Of course, this is before optimisation, but The framerate is s long way off the 90 FPS needed for good VR (maybe asynchronous time warp could help?)

Management is expected in Alpha 3, so there's not much actual game yet, but it's been great fun to mess around with. Alpha 2 is expected on 24th May, with official coaster and terrain sculpting tools. So maybe alpha 3 in July?

I've not really played eight her, but the management stuff is the simulation mode rather than a sandbox. You will have to make a career or complete various scenarios where you start off small, and expand by making money from the guests in order to get better rides.

I think this involves making a mixture of family rides and thrilling rides, not making them too sick, and building shops to suck out their money :p.
