Planet Gravity indication

Being a MAIN safety and ship control parameter when out of super cruise approaching a planet surface, I see it unrealistic that the ship does not display the gravitational pull of the planet when entering orbital flight already.
I think it could be displayed as a fixed info in the otherwise always empty INFO tab on the top right of our HUDs.
something like:
Gravity: 0,78g
Maybe even changing color if the value is above a predetermined threshold.
green: G < 1g
yellow: 1g < G < 2g
red: 2g < G

It does indeed but I agree it could be clearer / more prominent ... maybe even a warning if it's over 1g. Hell, in the SRV (where it's less important really) we even can an audible Covas warning about high-g.

But then you'd get all the 'experts' complaining and asking to be able to tweak the alarm limits as I can safely land on a 10G planet - why is it warning me?:ROFLMAO:
Maybe. I'm willing to bet tho' that more DW2 ships were lost to not realising what the gravity was until it was too late than to, for example, flying into a star after a hyperspace jump (where FD have expended considerable effort on automatically zeroing the throttle and stuff like that). They seem keen on tweaking the game to avoid accidental death so this is an area that could do with a bit of extra work.

yes, the G number needs to be larger and/or displayed in a more prominant location. (other than buried in 3 or 4 other numbers)

I think the current size of the text is visible enough, but maybe the TV folk need a little bit bigger. Sure it doesn't tell the final gravity on the surface from orbit, but it's easy enough to estimate with a little bit of experience.

Agree it should be more prominent.
And it is almost invisible in a Conda 'cos someone decided to put a bright light right next to it.

It displays it above the surface coordinates as soon as you enter orbital cruise - or at least, it does for me!

Of course that is the gravity that the ship is currently experiencing - not the g figure for the surface (until you get there) - so maybe @Erfo was meaning that the planet's statistic be shown in addition to what the ship is currently experiencing?

BTW - I too would like the current g figure be easier to read.

Possibly, though by the time you hit orbital cruise you've probably got 80% of surface gravity and can tell the difference between "probably safe" and "probably not".

Given some of the things which the game sticks right in your face with mega alerts, they certainly could make the gravity indicator a little more prominent than it is, though.

I agree it could be easier to read, I struggle to read it against an Anaconda's grey dashboard with the default HUD colours.

If there is room the surface G could be appended to all landable planets in the left HUD nav panel in addition to the local gravity indicator on the main HUD.
