Planet Landing any time?

Hello Commanders
Im CMDR Kernic, bounty hunter, i have a question to ask the Developers or any one who nows about that. Some day we will be able to enter in planets?, some time, Soon?. Or you don't have plans to do this Major Update into elite dangerous.
Me as a bounty hunter maybe you think is like.. Meh.. but i dream about entering planets and look at them at 1:1 scale. Maybe hunting some pirates in the inside.. Go to the Gas Type Planets and get close to the clouds and see, whats the universe of ED like... Im Dreaming a land in a Rocky planet and just Walk around and fly around.. or get to the water world and look at the water. Maybe im dreaming to far
But is there a plan to do this any time?

Landing on planets, walking around ships and stations, fps combat, boarding ships and capturing them, ai crewmen and ai wingmen; all are planned for the future, most will be part of paid dlc/expansions. If you are curious head over to the design discussion archive there you can see many of the threads discussing developer plans for the game.

Seamless planetary landings are planned, yes. They will however come as paid expansions and it will also happen in smaller steps:

Planetary landings won't be a single thing. I think I've said before - it is what is down there that makes planetary landings compelling - and please remember all of this will be after first release of the game.

I imagine we will start with landings on airless moons. You would be able to see heavy industry, craters up close, and ultimately be able to deposit things on the surface (stash cargo or mining machines). Atmospheric worlds are a bigger challenge - whether rocky or gas giant in nature - and a key element there is the atmosphere. They should have rich cloudscapes with lightning, turbulence etc.

The biggest challenge is with what we call 'outdoor worlds'. I would want rich and varied vegetation, wildlife, and so on.

My guess is that parts of the dev team is already working on this as we speak to some degree. My personal guess is that we will see the first steps towards this at the end of the year.

Not before 2017 I guess. No Man's Sky and then Mass Effect 4 will bring that much earlier than anyone else. But until 2017 probably will see more paid expansions here, adding walking on ships, bases, boarding, etc, probably before landing on planets.
But they still need to add a lot of content to the core of the game before expanding in such levels. So I predict zero paid expansions coming this year, but one or two big free updates like the powerplay that is coming.

According to people who talked to the devs on the release party we are probably going to see planetary landings first simply because this can (to begin with) still take place from inside the cockpit. This seems plausible since creating all the assets, code and mechanics for first person gameplay is a much bigger task in terms of development. That's why I suspect planetary landings (airless moons/planets) might be the first expansions coming. Them wanting to some extent counter No Mans Sky in that department and also show seamless landings against Star Citizens scripted ones is two good tactical reasons for doing this first.

We also know that they are working on expansions right now in parallel with the core development based on what was said in the first Dev Update back in January:

Our first commitment is supporting the game with regular updates. This won’t just be the fixes and tweaking we’ve provided since release but will also add new features and content. Examples of this are Wings and associated multiplayer features, as well as the additional ships mentioned in recent newsletters. We’re proud of the fantastic game that we released before Christmas but intend to keep growing and developing it. To make this happen we’re expanding the team working on the game so that we can maintain a regular schedule of updates as well as working on paid expansions.

Can you give us link? Cant find such forum/subforum anywhere... Only suggestions and thread with quotes of devs about future stuff, but nothing else...

Check my signature for a link to a post the summarizes them neatly.

These are proposals though and things might change. Some of them are also quite old by now so other solutions might have come up. Based on what they have been doing with the updates and the things they've teased about 1.3 it certainly looks like they are working through these to flesh out the game. Which of course makes perfect sense since they were written with a purpose after all. ;)

None of them talk about planetary landings or other types of future paid expansions though.

lol, they called prettymuch everything about what people expect a "pie in the sky" recently, obvious backpeddling is obvious,
Might as well happen never, like the offline game, so "12 month after release'" is just another epic fail time estimate like basically all the previous ones. I'm starting to see a pattern here guys :(
