Planet Numbers

Is there a database of planet quantities by star/system?

Just discovered a single-star system that lit up like a christmas tree when I opened the system map. In normal view, had to click on the right-most planet 3 times to get the last one to display.

Want to count again to make sure, but it was 21 last count. A lotta double planets (not moons). All but the last 3 are less than 2900ls out.

Yes, a single star, lol.

That would be a pain to maintain for sure! :)

The record is about 120 or 140 bodies in a single system (excluding asteroid belts), and anything above 50 could be considered as a 'rich' system.

A quick look at EDDB data suggests there are a couple of systems where there are 26 planets (excluding moons) orbiting a single barycenter. This is just based on planet name/number, e.g. these exist: Ogaiws AA-A h18 26 and Hypou Briae FG-Y g5 A 26. These are both the 26th planets around their corresponding stars. There are a handful more planets in the Hypou Briae FG-Y g5 system orbiting the secondary star - but I don't think that's what you're asking ? 21 around a single star is still a good find :)

I'll post system name once i get back to bubble.

ps - how do you do that "spoiler" hide function?

pps - thanks, had never thought to look in EDDB.

In the advanced editor section, highlight the bit you want to hide and then push the red button with an exclamation on it. Or you can simply type
[ spoiler ] content you want to hide [ /spoiler ] (but without the spaces in the tags)
