Is this a bug, or a weird planet that cannot be scanned?!

IT just means there was a communications problem with the server, wait a few minutes or relog and then try the scan again.

Very frequent occurrence back in beta after some patches.

It's still a fairly common occurrence, but it seems to go in spurts. It happened to me for about 20 minutes intermittently yesterday as I was jumping into systems. I couldn't scan the system to even see the star that was right in front of me several times. Just had to be patient and keep scanning.

What it means is there are too many pew pew servers and not enough left for explores

Happened to me... cleared when I jumped to another system. Within same system, it was spamming me with the message over and over - even after relogging twice - the jump "solved" it.

its interesting though, that it managed to scan and find 52 planets, etc, and only the one would not show up no matter hoiw many extra scans i did.
