Planet Zoo File backups

Apologies if this isn't really the right place for it, but I'm replacing my outdated computers in a few days (thanks C:S2!!!) and am wanting to be sure I keep all of my PZ zoos.

Literally any other game I own I actually don't care if saved games are brought along with them or not, except the Sims and Planet Zoo.

So my understanding is that Franchise zoos are in the "cloud" and when I set up steam and install Planet Zoo on my new computer, the franchise zoos should all still be there? That's the main one for me, but what about workshop items and blueprints I've created?

Also for other saves, really just sandbox mode. am I correct in understanding those are not save "in the cloud" but the files would manually need to be transferred over from the old to new computer?

Just trying to not mess anything up and miss anything. PZ is very important to me for the work I've put into it, and really still want to have all my zoos still. Especially Franchise but all would be nice.

FWIW I've already bought the new computer, it's a beast of a machine..I'm going to need it apparently for C:S2....but also the current one I have is almost 7 years old and I'm actually thrilled that until now it's run games. Although with low frame rates. I'm looking forward to that improving on the new one.

Any help information is very welcome and again sorry if this is really the wrong place for it. I honestly don't care what happens to the rest of the files of my games. I'd love to have all the saves of course but I'm not going to stress out if I don't.

If you already have the new PC, I'd say just install PlanZo and see if your saved games are there. I believe that they do upload to the cloud and then can be on any PC that PlanZo and your Steam account are connected on.

I once had a huge PC, a server computer, and I had managed to install Steam and PZ on it. It had my saved games from my laptop.
Unfortunately we messed something up and now I can't install my graphics card on it😅😭

But, anyways, I believe that saved games should transfer

That's a good idea. So I can install it on the new computer before I remove it from the current one? Not wanting to cause issues with Steam or anything of course. My new computer should arrive by the 31st. I've uninstalled almost every game included the ones on external drives as this new one will have plenty of room for everything I think...6 TB. Keeping planet zoo on there until it actually gets here though, just in case.

Always keep a backup of zoo files and blueprints if transferring data. The steam cloud can have hiccups where non essential files such as blueprints will not be saved. Head over to users \ %userprofile% \ saved games \ frontier developments \ planet zoo \ user ID \ saves and then grab every file you want to keep onto a external device for transfer. In the case of steam cloud data loss, you can just add these into the same location and resume where you left off.

Fantastic I'll do that for sure. Thank you much to both of you!

You can also send them to yourself via email, so you have easy access to them on the new Computer
