My AspX is currently on its way to the station i am at (15 min) so I thought I would take the time to make an account and make this post so that I am armed with as much knowledge on this as possible. I am taking my AspX and i was wondering what sort of build I would need for it to make this trip as risk free as possible as well as maximizing credits from cartography fees. I also need help planning a safe route, and one that ventures into some uncharted space for exploration.

I use an Anaconda for my exploring as it gives all I need all round and has a great jump range even without the new technology. You need the ship to be as light as possible with A grade FSD a bonus would be the new Guardian FSD Booster, cut everything down as much as possible even Power Plant and you don't really need weapons, also utility wise take some heatsinks these will come in handy if you drop too close to a star. Try https://www.edsm.net/ to set your route as it has a great planner on it I have used it many times.

5B Fuel scoop (no point paying for an A since Fuel Scoop has no mass).
4D Shields (lightest mass) to give some protection inside the bubble.
2 x AFMUs (one to repair the other, again no mass).
1 x Cargo Rack (optional).
1 x Advanced Discovery Scanner.
1 x Detailed Surface Scanner.
1 x Docking Computer (optional, incase your docking skills get rusty whilst out in the black).
2 x Heatsinks (just incase you get into trouble and either need to lose heat or 'disappear').
1 or 2 x Mining Laser (optional).
No other weps needed, submit to interdiction, 4 pips to engines, 3 x boost and high-wake to next system.

You can also take a SRV (optional) for surface mining for materials
A rated FSD (optional but preferred ) possibly engineered for mass and long range my Asp explorer has a rated 50ly but does 46.5 ly
A guardian FSD booster (optional)for extra jump range

Jump range is nice, but economical routes visit more stars and mean less scooping.
Expect to go 1500Ly before you find unexplored systems; and yes do that first leg at 90 degrees to your intended route before turning for Colonia/Sag A.
If there is a bright bunch of stars in the view, then someone else has probably seen it and been there. Do not be disapointed when everything there is tagged.
Do check the Galaxy map for nebulae (fuzzy blobs). They are worth a little detour for the views.
Do not fall asleep while jumping - accidentally ramming a star can hurt.
Be prepared to turn away from the occasional multi-star hot-spot (use a heatsink if you need to).
Music - or an audio book or a radio play. All good options to keep your brain in gear.
Honk - scoop - check the system map for pretty things. Remember its a road trip, not a race. Visit a few pretty planets just because you can.
If you take an SRV - remember landing on a planet of over .5G is not trivial! Especially after a long day.
Mainly enjoy the trip.

A rated FSD, biggest fuel scoop you can afford, I think im using the 6B fuel scoop on my asp. And A rated power plant. The rest should be D rated. A rated power plants have less chance of overheating while scooping and for me actually ended up raising jump range. And of course the AFMU, srv and discovery scanners (both).
