Planning to sell an expansion over an incomplete game is wrong!

I try not to be so critical of video games as they become more complex. There is a lot of time invested and complex code involved. I spent what, $50.00 on Elite maybe more? I could have easily spent that stuffing my face in a restaurant or more on a bar tab. If it said Alpha on the website I still would have bought it. I haven't owned a game that didn't have paid updates in quite a while so I kind of expected it. If it weren't for kickstarter funding I honestly wonder if it would have made it this far on $50.00 a copy. To be fair though maybe the original poster was one of those guys that donated like $10,000 so who knows?

Start a software company, develop a series of games that result in one of the most widely anticipated releases ever and then you can release stuff however you like. Personally given the circumstances I think they've done a really good job so far. It's Elite, modernised and looking fantastic with mmo elements, the combat ai is awful though I agree... Then again, it has to be or all those people running away from open wouldn't have easy mode.

Strange, i find combat in the game very well implemented and enjoy it a lot.
