Plans for Zoos after support ends (whenever it may, not an alarmist thread!)

Don't let the thread title throw you off please! This is not doom speaking because support could go on for another year or 2, 3, etc years.

What I'm wondering is, are you holding back on any ultimate zoo plans until support ends, whenever that may be?

For me, I've come up with a lot of franchise zoos, over 30 at this point, but I'm also saving an idea until after we get that final pack (which we may not know is a final pack for a while after it releases!) I'd like to create a series of zoos based around the world in themes, think of it it like a zoo version of Disney or Six Flags (if you're in the US you'll know the second). The zoos will have varying rosters, but there will also be some commonalities to them.

Now, the reason I want to wait until support ends is so that I can design each zoo with the final plan in mind, not try to squeeze in species, or move them around, or wonder what's coming next. It's something i struggle with in current zoos - for instance my "main" zoo cannot expand in Europe, North America, Africa or Asia sections any longer. I don't want to limit myself on this series of zoos, i want to know what I have to work with and plan from the start. If that makes sense?

Does anyone else have anything you're waiting to do until we've "got all we're getting?"

I still want blackbucks and takins for future dlcs or updates. But you know what would truly be amazing to have?

BIRDS!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF BIRDS!!!
Well, I agree, birds hopefully, so that is something that you feel is holding back on projects and ideas or ultimate zoo plans? Just trying to not turn this into another thread about what animals we want. More of an idea of our projects we have in mind.

When support ends, I plan on making a massive sandbox zoo, with every single animal and utilizing every building theme. Say a prayer for my PC if I don't upgrade it by then.
For sure. I'm sure there will be many of us in that same situation. Several games on the horizon for this year/next year that will probably mean I'll be getting a new PC!

Sure, mate. Apologies for that 😅.

That said, I do have plans for creating a SE Asia zoo similar to Mandai Wildlife Reserves. I'm also hoping to put more effort in franchise once the DLC releases are finalised

I'm pretty sure we'll only get one or two SEA animals before support ends considering how well represented it is.

Lots of plano, not a lot of time 🥲

I got tired of waiting and i already started my southamerican focus zoo already.

My plans for when support ends is to use the mods. I plan my zoos with them in mind but i don't have them installed yet.

After the end of support i'll see what final roster we got, what animals are missing that i could get from mods and which ones need a remaster.

I have always wanted to do a classic European city zoo, and I have always wanted to wait till the end to have the best roster for it.
While city zoos have the big ticket animals then stuff like birds, monkeys, and terrarium animals are very important to make such projects believable.
So I have waited till we would get more of these types of animals, and slowly over time realized that might never happen.

Instead, my plans now are just to finish the parks I got going on. Never managed to finish anything in PZ.

Since the launch of the game I've been holding out on recreating my favorite zoo of all time, The Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle Washington. I attempted making it around when Arctic came out, but realized I didn't have the skills or pieces to do it, so I promised myself once I get better and once the game is fully complete and I have every piece at my disposal, I'll start working on it again. I also plan on using mods and hopefully there will be a theme makers toolkit by the end of the games lifecycle as well. In a weird way I'm looking forward to the game ending but I am also dreading it lol. I'll probably also do my home zoo Houston, I started working on it but got to a point where I just couldn't recreate some of these things to my liking with the current pieces in game, so I put it on hold. This tends to happen a lot with me haha.

I made a huge mistake last year: I started making a series of zoos that exclusively feature animals that start with certain letters of the alphabet (in English, of course). Some of them had to include multiple letters. I only made it to the D+E+F Zoo. However, in my B Zoo, I had already found it hard to squeeze in the bats and butterflies, and in the D+E+F Zoo, I had to build a bridge over my African elephant habitat to have room for the emus. I haven't even added the red deer in the D section or the fossa in the F section. In my A Zoo, I don't even have room for armadillo or addax habitats. I don't really think that I have room to add caracals and sand cats to the cat section of my C Zoo, and I most definitely don't have room for camels in that zoo's desert section. That's why I'm waiting until we get our last DLCs to do this project. I might have to restart a couple of the zoos. My hope is that we get a nutria, a quetzal, a quokka, a bald uakari, a vulture, or a vicuña to pad out a few letters. Heck, that's why I didn't complain much when we got the horned viper.

How do you fill an entire map with B animals? Aren’t the maps like, huge?

It's just the way that I have the zoo thematically designed. It's all crammed together. It'd be difficult to reroute the paths between exhibits. It's hard to explain. You'd have to see it to understand. It was the first one that I've done in that series. I've gotten better.

I'd love to show you, but I'm on my laptop right now. The zoo is on my big ol' home pc. Also, I'm having trouble with screenshots. I hit F12 to get a steam-based screenshot, but I can't save it onto my computer. Is there a way to do that? I'm not the best with tech.
Best way is to just upload it to steam and copy the image link or save it from there to your desktop!

Either way, beyond support I’d also love to just finish up all my projects. Love seeing them evolve with different updates and even going back for touch ups.
