It's so great to have Elite back! Looks like it is going to go ballistic in sales once the full version is ready.

With that said how about contacting Hobbico who now owns Revell/Monogram (the plastic model makers) and lets get a Cobra Mk III model in the works...Maybe two! Go for a basic 1/72 scale and a larger 1/48 scale with a cockpit interior and panel openings to mount your weapons of choice! Polar lights could also create an add-on lighting kit. If sales go over big then other popular ships could be added later.

Another separate kit could be all the weapons in ED at 1/48 scale. Then we could get creative!

What better way to fly in ED with your Cobra model hanging above the monitors!

Yes, I saw #35 but It's probably an art department designer model versus something commercial for sale to the public. I didn't see anything with regards to obtaining one.

quite possibly, it was a sneeky peek, so maybe something for a future newsletter. I do hope they release some collectable models, I would certainly be in the market.

I don't see a problem with allowing Hobbico or someone else to license the rights to make scale model ships from the ED universe but I'm not sure I'd go along with ED contracting someone to do so. In other words I feel the money we've invested in the development of ED should go to the development of ED not for some nice to have swag.

I don't see a problem with ED taking a look and see if it is profitable nor should it be an issue of using ED software development funding. This would be separate. My uneducated guess is that if ED becomes a household word like Star Wars then Hobbico would pay ED. Until then it would be a mutual thing but all the 3-D graphic work has already been completed. Make a mold and a test run and see how the public responds.

Or we could wait for "Elite - The Movie" to become a world wide blockbuster sensation and then every one would get on the band wagon.
