Ever since the dissolution of SWG a few years back I have been looking for an MMO with complicated crafting and trading modules that allow for players to influence the markets. What I am suggesting is a crafting system where all of the space ship components can be manufactured by players out of resources gathered in space. These resources would all have different ratings that effect the outcome of the final components quality. If this were applied to all ship components in the game rather than NPC markets, the ultimate ship performance would be based on more than just the generic components sold by the original computer based manufacturers and variation in space combat and travel would endless. In order to do this the hangers could include, like Star Wars Galaxies also, some sort of crafting stations and storage areas where resources and ship components could be stored and a vendor which players could place to sell to other players. This can be expanded beyond star ship components of course with future land based gameplay or whatever, but complicated trading economy based systems are the games of the future, and the ones my friends and I will be willing to play. Ships should also be fully customizable with furniture and colors as well down to the inch. It is not too complicated for players to type in cordinates for their picture frames rather than having specific nodes to place things in. People want games that are interactive and endless. And yes, SWG, was the best game I've ever played. Why are more developers not following its examples of individuality?
