Hello, just some QoL ideas I thought of (probably been mentioned before) around player (aka wing) beacons.
1) Option for Automatic Wing Beacon On.
It'd be nice for the Wing Beacon to enable itself by default upon becoming a wing member.
Options can be On, Off, Friends & Squadron Only.
The last option only enables the beacon if a friend or squadron member is in the wing.
2) Squadron Beacon
Basically the same as a wing beacon, it's a beacon visible to any CMDR in the squadron when enabled. Perfect for getting a fleet together.
3) Public Player Beacon
Basically just enables a beacon which any player can see from the contact tab.
Good for requesting assistance, or laying a trap. Default is most definitely Off.
It also can be set with a time limit in minutes. From On, 1-30 minutes, or Off.
Defaults to Off upon logging out.
Also displays a warning saying it's active, so can't be accidentally turned on.
4) Wanted/Notoriety Beacon
Just a final idea I just thought up, not thought this through yet!
If a CMDR has a high enough bounty and/or has a high enough Notoriety, and is fully passively scanned by any player or security NPC (even in supercruise), a temporary Beacon is activated, allowing other pilots to chase them to their exact location.
Could be extended to show up on the galaxy map somehow?
This would allow bounty hunters to actively chase down criminal players, as well as criminals lay traps for bounty hunters.
Lots of gameplay either way.
