It's a well-kept secret: but not an exclusive one.
There are forces out there, planning our demise. I think we all know this, in our hearts. But we also know that the penalty for reporting our suspicions is at best ridicule, at worst character destruction.
I have seen a conspiracy forming before my eyes, but I do not know to whom I should report it. I've had many a grim preliminary meeting with so-called "top figures" before deciding that perhaps circumspection is the ideal.
So I chose this system and this place, to tell the truth in such a way as it might grow and spread on its own, without my own death becoming a feature of its progress.
They are out there, fellow commanders. They are there. Our one-time president knew this, and is now being systematically destroyed for her knowledge.
This is not just another day at the office, not for any of us. This is not just another day's trade. The secret is out - and we must respond accordingly.
