Player faction creator suggestion.

Why not have a in game mechanic whereby players can pay an amount to get a faction started, the more money the bigger percentage upto a certain amount. If there are indeed millions of players in the game it would give us something to spend cash on improving out faction and expanding it.

Wars between player factions would be interesting as well and add a new angle to the galaxy. When you build to a certain level you can request to ally with a superpower etc.

Thoughts?

Real money or In game money?

I would assume in game money

I'm not so sure I like the idea though. That would lead to a lot of dead factions and more work having to moderate faction names to handle all the immature kids with explicit faction names.

the idea was if the faction becomes abandoned or gets zero amount for the faction it's deleted this way we wouldn't end up with loads of dead factions and would allow like minded players to build up factions to go against other player factions and make the game more than just combat/trade/pirate etc.

We already have factions but we have to request it from FDEV this way we could start a faction over in a backwater and go from there. Costs could be relative to superpower home world's so backwaters and frontier world's would cost much less but be harder in the long run due to proximity of other systems nearby.

Personally I prefer the control FDev currently have over player faction creation. I don't particular like the idea of every player having their own faction, filling the bubble with every nonsensical pseudo-faction imaginable.
I like that each CMDR is a small cog, and taking the reins off of an already highly impactful aspect of the game is a bad idea for the universe IMO.
