Player interaction stories!

Once I was really drunk in RL. It was late Saturday and just got into some CG system. There was someone shouting at system coms:
- "You will never call me fatty, you will never disrespect me!"
I thought to myself:
- "Oh! Cool. Another Commander is drinking and driving same time..."
[Never, ever do this in RL guys!!!!!!!]
Then I thought to myself:
- "Should be fun to wing up with another irresponsible guy..."
So..., this is where I made a fatal mistake I think, as I have shouted via the system coms:
- "Youre so fat, they had to custom made your cockpit for your ass to fit inside, my dear fatty!!".

Think it's worth to mention here, back then I just bought a still smeling leather new Clipper and outfitted it with a budget of around 7mils only... The "Fatty" was in FDL, and found me just few seconds after...

Yes. What was after went pretty fast. The "Fatty" took my shields down in few secs, while I was still figuring out how to slide my Clipper in the void properly (this beauty slides so freaking awesome after you're gettin used to this, I imagine true RL jets are doing same..., once youre get used to this..., back than I wasnt...).

Last think I remember (before packing my ass to escape pod) was the evil laugh I thought I hear in my head. Of a fatty that took down my new, shiny Clipper. On a Saturday night. While I was tryng to find a drinking companion:)) How rude!!!!;))

...I trully love our universe because of events like this. The danger is everywhere around and I love it!!!

Fly dangerously Commanders!!;)

I have a friend who plays the game who I met in game but because he is from Australia and I am from the U.S we can hardly get into the same instance because of the instancing issues the game has even when we are in the same wing

Mr. Ed (Community Manager) from Frontier was saing in one of the latest streams (the one about Beagle Point) they're fixing those issues with instancing in 2.1. Hope I will help you to play along your friend:)

On top of what I posted before, I recently interdicted a Type-9 to pirate him at the CG. As I was issuing my demands, an NPC pirate jumped in and began firing at the Type-9. I said "hold on, one sec," and then went to chase off/kill the NPC. The Type-9 stayed still the entire time and, after I killed the NPC, even said "thanks for that." He then abandoned the agreed upon quantity of cargo and we went our separate ways, wishing each other good luck and safe travels in the process.

I was minding my own business out in the backwater I hang out in, browsing a bulletin board at my leisure. I was hailed by another CMDR, which surprised me - I hardly ever see anyone out here. He asked if I was going to be long because he wanted to use the medium pad I was on.

One thing lead to another and now, months later, we're lining up the fourth expansion for our group [smile][up]

Dear diary,
today i met some CMDRS i met last Friday in the HIP9337 CG (or the likes),
after pirating the CMDRS Python and following him wake after wake pressing him for cargo,
i lost him, guessing he low waked and then jumped out.

15 minutes later i met him again in his silent running DBS,
he said "prepare to die and pay up for attacking my python".
I fought him, he played defensively, coming in for attack run after attack run
with his rails using his speed to relocate.
We fought several battles, my ship took mediocre damage and i managed to kill his FSD,
leaving him alone in the black void to die of loniness :)

Today i went to pirate on, the first CMDR flew a T6 and wasn't aware to my message,
interdicting him and scanning for cargo. He ran... tried to more or less,
he died for not complying to my demands of 22 tons of cargo (out of 125+ !!!!).
The next CMDR was in a T7, he responded to my message and even stated truthfully
that he was carrying 212 tons of cg materials. I scanned him, asked him to drop 32 tons and actually got 50,
nice chap, he lived and we met again later on.

After the next encounter with a less responsive trader i went to drop off the goods.
The T7 CMDR switched to a SR combat Viper,
he interdicted me with the DBS CMDR and we had a 2vs1, they managed to take my hull to 38%,
forced me to switch tactics repeatedly, change throttle and direction a lot and take some free-aimed shots.
Good fun.

A hilarious 20 minute fight past, i was interdicted by the self proclaimed owner of the CG system,
MR. top bounty (490k sorry bud that is just starting money).
He and his Cobra friend interdicted me and they went SR on me,
the railguns of the wanted CMDR were punching me a lot, but so was my weaponry on his modules.
I had to switch targets and adjust flying a lot, the FDL had a hard time keeping up with me
and P2P i curse you for registering hits on me, where clientside my gameclient has shown me the shots as misses.

The CMDR took my armor down to 12%, i had to leave, he had lost the canopy, the cobra was down to 30%.
Calling me a "noob pirate" (obviously for not flying an FDL and calling murder piracy) he threatened me to return
with reloaded weapons and his cutter.
I laughed, had a good time.

Let us see what the weapon changes bring;)

Eravate.
I was sitting in SC above the main star in my combat Cutter. (Hunting wanted CMDRs, not killing Sid'es).

A wing of 3 Adle's Armada CMDRs jump in. After they scanned me, and jumped out of the system, another CMDR jumps in.

Scan: ~3000cr on his head.

Quick interception, weapons deployed, his speed is less than my, his Diamondback is in a second from destruction...
Then I notice his quick messages: "Do not open fire," "I'm a member of AA"... (I don't remember the other messages).
In total: five messages in five seconds (of 3-4 words). It is very quick!

I'm trying to figure out what to do or what to say. This gives him time to get away and I was left alone in confusion.

And at that moment I'm trying to imagine the situation from his side.

Big and scary Cutter with a bunch of lasers pulls me out of SC while I'm peacefully refueling. I submit to interception to leave quickly, but I can't break away from him, and he is already ready to shoot me. No escape...

I realize how scared he was...

Later it turned out that he was the fourth member of that AA squad.

I wasn't really scared as I have fought a lot a of cutters and corvettes. I had gone to another system to get a DBS as there was a new guy who I had to help out( duels and training) . Yes I have a really fast fingers and type kinda fast. I also remember that you were using beams and pulses on your cutter which is overkill for the class 7 capacitor. Running from a cutter is easy, you turn to face it and then boost pass. Due to the extremely long turning time about 20s I could have got about 3.5 km away in a DBS which boosts to 400m/s. We always appreciate help in Eravate but killing a commander with less than a kill's worth of bounty (6.6k) is not the best.

Onto my story:

A random Haz Rez.
In my super tanky corvette(PvP spec) doing bounty hunting... A CMDR in a vulture shows up and starts shooting at me for no apparent reason. I was sitting there sending him direct messages but he didn't want to stop. He kept going, my shields we still nearly at a 100%. Out of nowhere a wing of three commanders ( a python, cutter and viper3) and kill the CMDR in the vulture. I messaged one of the CMDRs in the wing talking them they didn't need to do that... Turning away from the haz Rez to head back to the station. The CMDRs open up on me. Seriously? I had enough of it and turned around to face them. I had barely used any of my SCBs so I could definitely fight them. I went for the python first. Landing my double huge PAs and a burst of my multis broke his shields and I went for his power plant. He retreated so I changed over to the cutter. The cutter was using a very high energy drawing weapons including 2 large beams which emptied his capacitor almost instantly. I knew this was my time to strike as a inexperienced big ship pilot would fly with less pips to systems when they are not being focused or have barely any power in capacitor for weapons. I boosted towards him and put two PAs into him along with my multis providing decent sustained fire. And the RAM broke his sheilds. A lucky plasma volley broke his fsd and he was done. By that time though the python pilot had returned and I had burned through a lot of my SCBs and was nearly out of heat sinks. I got out of there. If you're flying a large ship into PvP always have 4 pips into sys at all times as this increases your shields strength by almost 250% Experience in the Corvette is what won me this random PvP encounter.

CMDR Bazinga! (Adle's Armada)

Yeah I was bussing OnionHead into -     , I don't know, and that pay check is about all I got left after last week. F-Feds!
Anyways there was a blockade (F-Feds) and some bloke kept interdicting me in his lethal Corvette but didn't open fire.
Anyways, we got to yarning and I had a few beers and crashed overnight on the floor under my Cobra on pad 42 at your place in Clair Dock.

I want to apologize for that interception.
Before that, all of my PVP encounters were silent and straightforward. Everything was simple: I want to kill him, he want to kill me. All clear and fair.
But this time I felt like a murderer. Because of these quick messages, I thought: "What am I doing, he is trying to escape and not even resist!" I wanted to apologize then, but I could not. I felt bad for what I did...
I'm sorry I wanted to kill you.

Ps.
My Cutter has one plasma accelerator and 6 Pulse Lasers.

Player interactions stories eh?

I suppose my most interesting one was actually a series of interactions. A couple of months after powerplay came out, i did a tour of all the power home systems and randomly interviewed power supporters, like a journalist, asking them why someone should support their power.

Was quite fun. I did a big write up about it at the time. Made lots of friends on that trip, and one or two enemies. :D

Last night, I was in a wing of 2 when a new person showed up in a viper. We interdicted him, he didn't submit and so I chased him down. Once the mini-game was over, he ran as fast as he could.... So I just boosted my FDL up to his Viper and started chatting with him. We asked if he needed help, so he joined our wing and started making him some credits... HOWEVER,

On the flip side, we were headed to a HRES when one of our wing mates was interdicted by a FAS. I was already in the HRES and couldn't get out fast enough to help him in his new FDS, so he got to see his rebuy screen. The same FAS jumped him again, but this time I was able to enter the fight.... The FAS player ran away at 50-60% hull.

Either way, Open is great... Just make sure you are able to afford a rebuy... but, join others and learn / play together....

On the flip side, a few nights ago, someone in his new FDL introduced me to my rebuy screen :)

I remember back in June or July last year, meeting a Cmdr in a system I had chosen to learn bounty hunting in. Cd-72 190 I think, it's a high tech in no where's ville, Imperial space.

I had been there for a couple of weeks and not seen anyone. Must have gone a bit stir crazy because suddenly this big T9 appears (first Cmdr piloted one I had ever seen!) amd I'm like Wow!! He must have been worried what the Cobra pilot was doing following him into the Station.

We chatted when we got there and winged up for a bit. It's not exciting to read but I was so happy to see someone else back then I'll never forget it!

So you interdicted someone in order to be friendly? I see that it worked out OK, but do you ever consider just, erm, using comms?

A long time ago in a system far, far away I met on 4 different occasions 4 different commanders who decided that I should be turned back into space dust.

When I awoke from major surgery I realised to myself that my calling was not in taunting criminals.

The end :D

I was delivering a load of booze a the Indi Bourbon CG in my Asp. I saw a CMDR in an Eagle hovering around inside the station. 07'd him but got no response.
Sold my booze and launched. While I was headed towards the mailslot the scanner showed a CMDR outside. It was the same guy in an Eagle. While I was looking at the scanner, I wasn't paying enough attention to where I was headed. I plowed into a stationary NPC T7. I was only doing 40m/s so no damage, The NPC still hadn't moved, so he was likely to be destroyed by the station at any time soon.
I've tried to push stranded NPCs out of a station before, but never been able to line them up with the mailslot in time. This NPC was right in the middle of the station, so I thought I'd give it a go this time. I was already directly behind the NPC, so I thrusted forward again slowly and started pushing. The NPC and I started moving slowly towards the mailslot, eventually reaching it. Not sure what speed we were going, but it must have been very slow, as I soon got a warning message from the station. Next a one-minute (I think) counter started and I got a 400 credit fine for trespass. We made it out of the mailslot with a little time to spare.
The T7 started to move away from me, as its AI finaly woke up. Suddenly an Eagle swerves past, barely missing the T7. I then realised that I had completely forgotten about the Eagle, and that he must have been a station rammer.
I hit boost a few times and got out of the no fire zone as fast as possible.
.
I'd love to have seen the look on the attempted station rammer's face when he saw the NPC T7 instead of my Asp.
i also figure that I must have earned a little Karma for rescuing a hekpless NPC from the station guns.

I bought a type 6 to try out a CG. A few people pirating along the way, and one fellow who wasn't a big talker. After submitting to the interdiction, they were in a silent running viperIV, and in silent running before getting me in their sites to blow me away without saying a word. My last thought as my ship blew up was "I wonder if he'll be disappointed that I don't actually have any cargo."

Two days later I'm still running the CG and am heading towards the toaster slot to offload cargo....and who should be leaving the station at that very moment...why the same mute CMDR that blew me up...now flying a fancy silent running federal assault ship. I decided not to observe the usual level of caution when docking and, completely inadvertently, boost face first into his FAS and drop his hull by 15%. I am fined 200 credits for reckless flying, and it's a fair cop. I smile a bit as I notice him turning around to redock and wonder if he realizes the connection between these two events.

The next day I head back into my sidewinder to just take in the sights, several hours past my bedtime. I notice a type 7 flying by and in a moment of sleep deprivation send him the message:
"Ahoy you are being pirated! Now, I forgot to buy an interdictor so you're on your honor to drop out of SC and release your cargo." He found this amusing enough that he in fact sent me some of his cargo in compensation.

My favorite moment was contact made over the forum. I wanted to get some information about the Mercs of Mikunn to help as I wrote Miko Stargazer's Travel Log and ended up flying with a wing of mercs into a conflict zone to shoot Kumo ships during Archon's expansion into Wadir.
