Player-made scenarios need to be officially supported.

Rock is there any specific scenarios that are currently available on the workshop that stand out to you? Or have you not looked at enough of them to have found a favorite yet?

I, like many others, start the game by selecting it and clicking "play" on Steam - not by browsing the forums and workshops and immersing myself in communities on ShyGuy forums or wherever else.

That is the crux of my suggestion - make the good stuff available to the masses. Give people the sense of pride and accomplishment from paying for lootboxes creating something that is good enough to be officially supported - Lord knows I've seen enough stunning creations - even moreso if I spent plenty of time intentionally seeking it out.

Lol you couldnt even name one scenario... you know you can access the workshop from within the games main menu right? the button is right above your friendslist with a search box

Here is everything your asking for http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/...cribers&browsesort=totaluniquesubscribers&p=1

and heres some of the highest rated scenarios (so far, Im sure more will come after the contest)

I'm liking this idea. Although the ability to create entire game-supported careers would be nice, in practical terms it make more sense (IMHO) for fans to make and post our own rec-lists.

There is even a whole forum section dedicated to just this. All this already exists. Why not use what is there for us instead of creating a new system?

I think you are intentionally misreading what I am writing.

I wrote that I did not know of any decent scenarios because I, like the majority of other players, do not comb forums, workshop and whatever else to find content to play. I expect people just load up the game when they want to play.

My suggestion as I have clearly laid out in past posts is to have the best of the content, once briefly curated by Frontier, easily accessible from the "Play" menu of the game. It could be under a menu called "Approved Scenarios" for instance.

The point of this is two-fold. One, it gives incentive to create exemplary content. To really push people to polish and impress. Two, it gives the players more of an incentive to play user-made content. As Scott previously and correctly surmised - people (as in the general players and not the core, niche fanbase) do not have the patience to test out multiple scenarios and then find out 2 hours in that they're guff and unachievable.

You have breezed past this by saying "lol you can't even name one" I didn't realise the contest was to name a scenario?

If you are still not sure what I am suggesting then please read again.

The contest is called "Cause A Scene" and it involves more than just naming a scenario [wink] https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/30286-Cause-a-Scene!-Custom-Scenario-Competition

No I totally understand what you are asking for, but Bo has already responded to your OP and said its not such a simple thing to do. The devs are already holding a contest right now that will include exactly what your asking for, only for just 1 map, because its a lot of work to verify everything. The winner of the contest will have their scenario added into the game officially (just as the devs have done with previous blueprint contests in the past). But they cant do this every month. You would also have people asking "why isnt my park selected by frontier"?

I, like the majority of other players, do not comb forums, workshop and whatever else to find content to play. [...] people do not have the patience to test out multiple scenarios and then find out 2 hours in that they're guff and unachievable.

Adding another button in the menus to segregate the "good" from the "bad" is not necessary because that is exactly what the workshop is for. You keep saying your not into scouring the workshop? then I guess you don't get to enjoy custom scenarios then, but they are available to you right from within the games main menu [up] you just have to click a few extra buttons. I already posted a few with the highest ratings, but as I keep saying give it time cuz there will be more!

The devs already put a lot of work into getting the workshop to work the way that it works. Thats why it has a search bar, rating systems, and the ability to sort by various categories. Sure it takes a little bit of time, but its actually a very good setup. If you want "incentive" to get ratings, then you have to try advertising your park a little bit. Did you ever try sharing/downloading parks in RCT3? It was quite a big hassle especially if CSO was included

I understand completely what RockandGrohl is trying to say, but having briefly looked at the workshop after subscribing to competition there looks to be plenty of nice scenarios to keep me occupied for a long while even if 10 percent of the 400 available are worth playing along with the new Adventure DLC just announced.

My Scenario is too easy to beat, you just need to attract guests into the park...

Easy - 1,000 guests - Medium - 1,500 guests - Hard - 2,000 guests

No time limit, why did i make it so easy, I'm just not good at creating scenarios...

Not everybody's motivated by beating difficult conditions. What else makes it attractive? Backstory (mine's on another planet), interesting landscaping (I set up the spawners as a teleport landing in the middle of the park, and dropped most of the land by about 40m), scenery (most of the included buildings have plant-filled hydroponic beds)? It's not just goals -- what makes your scenario special?

If, somewhere in it, your scenario has that spark? Ya done good! [up]
