Saw myself in game finally (Kickstarter perk - finally found my entry), after getting to Dangerous/Broker/Ranger. An Expert Cobra miner; not an Anaconda pirate lord, but it'll do.

I didn't pick a 'funny' name, but it's a nice little perk and I'm happy.

Only the best part of a year late, but I gather he was in the original Elite - at least, in the C64 version you were approached by Agent Blake for one of the missions. As I recall, it was confirmed that this was indeed a reference to the good Rog.
