There are so many issues with this....
- There is no cross play. So that limits the player base that can participate in this.
- With the how instancing works, several potential bounty hunters, will not be able to instance with the target. And just as victims of unwanted PvP can use the blocking system to avoid PvP players. Now the same mechanics can be used bounty targets to block the bounty hunters....
- Due to how instancing works with trying to match you with players that are close to you on a network level, meaning, players from Australia are very unlikely to be instanced with players from North America.
- Those players can go and play in other modes, like solo and private groups. So that would hunting them quite problematic
- Not to forget, we have time zones, so even if you spot a "good mission", you might play during totally different hours and thus you would not likely be able to encounter that player.
- Not all players plays regularly, and thus the opportunity to hunt them down would vary alot.
So this systems would be a CL....F... of issues, making it mostly useless and a pain to try and act on.
Then we have the most obvious abuse this system, how to transfer credits between players.
I want to give you 500 million credits, so a mutual "friend" kills me, I put a bounty of 500 million credits on killer, and you then collect that bounty by killing that player, and collecting the reward of 500 million credits for this.
