If frontier want to make player built bases then they will need to make some good game play with it, like your own business in your base. Like you could grow anything which is grown like tobacco then sell it, ship making then selling them or using for private use, module making private or selling. I think it would be a good idea because it might be good game play, a money drain for rich people, and could have a new ranking system implemented.

No, but it has outstanding potential to be one, and a good one at that.
It would be cool to build empires and whatnot.
But there's a load of technical stuff in the way.
I'm not saying I wouldn't want it. Just sayin' it's a lot of stuff to figure out.

Also if they add access to atmospheric planets then you could build a base(farm mainly) with less resources only if it had a plant friendly atmosphere
