Player Puff Pieces on Galnet - A Way To Motivate Cosmetic Purchases!

One way to encourage players to invest in microtransactions would be to show off their ship/SRV/SLF/Holo-Me cosmetics to others in game. Actually physical meetups accomplish this but only reach at most a few tens of players.

If the in-game Galnet news service automatically generated news stories about Commanders' achievements in-game, and included pictures of the Commander and the vehicle (with ship name and nameplates visible) in question, it would motivate players to improve their virtual appearance (with no cost to those who don't). Much as Daily Mail puff pieces about minor celebrities' lovely McMansions encourage its readership to head down to B&Q do.

Some suggestions

• CG top ten contributors
• (Faction-Local) most bounty vouchers redeemed, most CZ bonds earned
• (Faction-Local) biggest trade margin, total transaction
• (Faction-Local) largest exploration data drop
• (Anarchy) biggest bounty held (enhancement of existing feature)
• (Refinery) Most Ores sold, Most salvaged
• Largest Charitable Donor
• (Faction-Local) most contributions to moving BGS states, eg Famine buster, Outbreak medicine delivery
• (In Permit-Locked system) Commanders having earned permits this week
• (Powerplay HQs) most Merits earned etc
• Highly Engineered Ship

Really outstanding records could be collated for the newsletter.

For the commanders who prefer to work quietly and do great things, there should be a toggle to 'Allow Galnet Stories About Me'.

I'd add that CQC, best kills ratio players, should probably win mucho credits in game, Core Dynamics 'sponsorship deals' (holome modelling the latest spacesuit perhaps??) and be treated like celebrity Galnet sport stars!?

Imagine being the Michael Jordan / Roger Federer / Rory Mcilroy of Elite.

Fantastic idea, I think it would make the Galnet more interesting as well and give players additional reasons to sink time in the game and to pay for more micro transaction
