So, uh, you flew without adequate rebuy?
That's Elite Rule #1. Never break it.
I don't know if you're gaining bounties on purpose, as a pirate, or whatever, but go to an Anarchy if you want to attack without gaining a bounty.
No bounty, no bounty hunters or security to worry about.
If you have a dormant bounty in System X, grab a sidewinder and fly there. Let security scan you, and kill you. It will then be gone.
Or just avoid the area until it expires. There's 22,000~ populated systems in the bubble. Plenty of places to go.
Just finished watching the video. Some questions;
Firstly, why no shields? Shields, even bad ones, would have likely saved your ship.
Secondly, why did you let the security ship shoot you? You just flew straight. No pips adjustment, no boosting, no strafing, nothing. You basically just let them kill you. That's just poor flying I'm afraid.
I noticed you did try or remove modules to lower the rebuy, but you simply didn't have enough cash left over. This is the very reason you shouldn't fly without rebuy.
So, if you come back, which you should, because this game is awesome once you realise it doesn't hold your hand, remember the rules!
- Don't fly without rebuy, ever.
- Don't fly without shields, unless massively hull tanked.
- DO use your pips. With shields fitted, put 4 pips to shields to soak up more damage. If they fail, switch those 4 pips to engines to get more speed.
- DO fit more defences. Chaff, Point Defence, Shield boosters, etc.
- Don't crawl along in a straight line when someone is shooting you. Boost, lateral thrust, turn, etc.
- If you have a dormant, or active bounty, either use the suicide sidewinder trick, or avoid the system(s), for a few days or a week. I recommend the latter, as the suicide sidewinder trick will be being removed soon™, so it's best not to get used to it.
If you do return, remember you only lost your current ship, if you had a spare, that's still available. Also your reputation and ranks are intact, so earning back the money is actually incredibly easy.
